I don’t mind this storyline because it makes Jim and Pam more relatable as a couple because they have almost never had big fights in the series, but they have Jim come off as too much of an asshole and they drag it out a bit too much.

I'm the opposite, I end up hating Pam as it goes on. First telling him he can invest in the company, then immediately being upset with him for it and then growing resentment towards him the more he put into his work. Finally culminating in him leaving his job at the agency (which he does without hesitation, for her) only to then have her finally realize she was wrong and he should get his job back, except now he's no longer a partner in the agency and instead of moving an hour away they now have to move across the country. Beyond frustrating.

@@davidedwards8183 Jim is in the wrong… full stop. You don’t take a job with out discussing it with your significant other. They did and then he still went behind her back and took it. Then when she comes around to it and they agree to invest up to $5,000 he then turns around and puts in 10 grand. And this is already after he bought a house without telling her. She is rightfully upset because Jim constantly does things that have massive implications to both their lives and does so without involving her in said decisions.

@justinsnyder2846 I agree completely that he should've been honest about the job, but they did talk about, and she did agree to, a 5-10000 dollar investment but was mad that he invested the full 10. Buying the house without telling her was wrong, again I agree with you, however, that only further proves my point as she literally does it to him after he's settled back into his life in Scranton. Since we're talking about honesty in relationships, let's also bring up Pam's weird emotional relationship with Justin that she never tells Jim about. The reality is they both suck in this season and it's just the product of bad writing as the show wrapped up. They're still the best tv couple of all time though imo.

Eh I feel like writers lack talent to make a relationship interesting because all they know is divorce lol it's why Spider-Man writers keep breaking up MJ and Peter because they can't picture a relationship without fighting

Unpopular opinion - I loved this boom guy storyline, it made the docu crew relevant and got things heated up between Pam and Jim. Plus season 9 had absolutely nothing going on if not for andy-erin-pete, senator-Angela-Oscar, Jim-pam-byran

7:32 - all I'll say is when this came out, a lot of people did not think that was really well done haha the other thing that is all I'll say is, one might draw a connection in story writing approach between Andy abruptly becoming a complete asshole and Jim abruptly becoming about 10 times as much of a jerk than he's ever been before

Definitely the worst storyline with Brian now on the other side of the camera. I think its cool to finally recognize there is amd has always been a crew filming, but inserting him into the story was an awful decision.

as you've been watching these episodes, most of the stuff has been unfamiliar to me. the only things i remember post-michael are the existence of nellie, plop, and this shit with the boom guy. thats how much i disliked it. it seared into my brain in a way most of the ending of this show didnt.

As others have said, this is my least favourite storyline in the show, it's just weird and feels out of place for the show. And they definitely have Jim come off as too much of an asshole to instigate the storyline, sure he can have a bad day and lash out wrongly but the way it comes off is just too off for the character.
