Would you say most decks have a breakdown similar? I mean it seems like the winning matchups are mostly low tier and againt meta relevant decks its 50-50 at best with hero beat as an exception

Well having a mostly winning matchup against diva hero and hero beat, which are both solid S tier, well represented decks is a great thing. I do not think the matchup spread is the same for most decks. They’re all different.

Zombies and gladiator beast have a winning match up vs decks that need stuff in the grave(dandylion or treeborn frog) since they can banish things in the grave using book of life or retiari

Frogs beat LS if they have a slow start. It's actually a very one sided match if LS doesn't draw broken.

Against the dupe frog lock, samurai has an out to it thx to hand of the six samurai looping grandmasters

I think the fish matchup is significantly more 50/50. The fact of the matter is, majority of players have 0 idea what the deck actually does and plays into the otk. Granted, it's hard to play around it, but in this deck, summon a monarch, a hero or anything in atk and you open yourself up to lose through colossal arms, which completely side steps battle fader.

It has to be more than “anything in atk” because you can’t colossal otk a stratos since it’s 1800. The only heroes you could do that to are alius and malicious edge, which are rarely ever just on the field chilling in frogs. And every game that the frog deck does a dupe lock is just GG, which is pretty much every game. Hero frogs is not a matchup that fish would want to play.

@@imnerdpodcast this is what I'm talking about. I see you as someone who has a vast knowledge of the game, but even you don't see how easy it is for them to go colossal double arms. And this isn't like a play that takes more resources, it's their same setup. Just summon big fish, get 2 oysters. Get 2 fishborg. Make the board. If the build mains Roar or waboku, I can see the argument but not the current list you established. I think the issue is Fish is vastly under represented and misunderstood and players dumb it down massivly. I personally feel the deck has far more teeth than the community wants to give it credit for.

If it were so easy the deck would actually have some recent relevant results. The fact of the matter is it’s not easy to do, the frog deck doesn’t give fish enough openings to perform the otk, and neither do any of the other top tier decks. The fish deck is all copium in Edison.

@@imnerdpodcast as one of the only people with results using fish, i can tell you, it is easy to do. Not to mention the fact that most people misplay when they play against it. However It's runs into issues similar to any combo deck, and that's not drawing the combo. If you don't see big fish, the game halts and you have to stall until you do. The fact of the matter is, the fish deck doesn't care much what the opponent does game one and has a high win rate percentage, but suffers heavily post board. Every card that hurts frogs, hurts fish worse. The deck has a high skill cap and punishes you heavily for misplaying.
