Tbh Artemis Fowl had potential till disney picked it up. People died in that book lol Artemis ordered his body guard to kill people, the fairies had guns and shit, there was gun fights and descriptions of blood everywhere at points. I think Artemis gets sniped by a fairy and almost dies at some point. These books were pretty dope and gruesome. That dwarf killed a bunch of his clan and was a thief I think too. The body guard straight murders people and fairies the whole time, i think he executes a few at some point, and was like an assassin before or some shit I don't exactly remember. There's at least one part with torture in it. These were supposed to be kids books mostly too, odd as hell. They were in my elementary school. Then disney picked up the movie rights. I knew it was gonna be trash. Disney doesn't have the balls to make it the way its supposed to be. Hobbit was like 315 pages but felt longer and so much went on it would be hard to get it all in one movie tbf. There's 3 distinct acts in it from what I remember, getting there, smaug, then the seige
