Offspring were so good back in the day. Americana was their last great album. I really love smash and ignition though. I loved the grit of those two albums. Sometimes I just wish they'd record albums with that sound but every big band has to have such crystal clear poppy production these days.

a lot of American people don't know this but, The Offspring were huge in the 90s in Mexico, first song I heard was "pretty fly for a white guy", I was a happy kid, coming back from elementary school to go home and turn on the TV and spend the rest of my afternoon watching MTV videos. My dad would take us to the theater every other Sunday in Puebla, Mexico at a Mall, beside the theater there was a famous music store called Mixup. First thing I did with my savings at 12 years old, buy the Americana Album at this store. I did not know any English, never understood the lyrics, the music simply talked to my soul and hearing Dexter sing was amazing. The following weeks after saving more money I bought my next album "Ignition." Now I'm 35, and still listening to the Offspring like when I was a kid.

@stereostigma57944 жыл бұрын
@@Beetlejuice2959 they posted the lyrics to the rerecorded version that the offspring did a few years a go. Not as good. Its missing that dirty, indie tape recording sound. And dexter adds all these words to it.
@Janjibro664 жыл бұрын
@@stereostigma5794 I know. One of my biggest issues with many bands today is their production. Do artists today not understand that part of the art is creating a unique sound for the band? We dont always need crystal clear modern poppy sounding production. Offspring is a band very guilty of having that over produced poppy sounding production on their last 4-5 albums. Doesnt help that their newer music generally isn't very inspird either... but seriously I can't get through many tracks on most of their newer albums. Its pretty bad when I listen to music and get so annoyed by the sound. Seriously I have to skip through most of their new music because of the way the drums and vocals are recorded. There's nothing wrong with having a less polished, dirty and gritty sound like many bands used to have due to limitations of thr time. Honestly, even though older songs aren't as crystal clear and modern sounding they definitely sounded way cooler. Wish more bands from today would realize that there's nothing wrong with having unique sounding production on their albums. Why is it that all the most classic albums don't have crystal clear production?? Because it honestly sounds more pleasant on the ears. New music honestly sounds like a giant wall of sound. Itd like having someone sing as loud as possible right directly into your ears Thats not pleasant sounding at all. Its so annoying. Can't stand the last 4-5 offspring albums for that reason and for the fact that their music hasn't typically been very inspired for a while either.
