I've been around longer than these guys. I don't understand all the hater comments here. Nobody's voice, body, hair etc is the same in their mid 50's as it is in their 20's. These guys are legends for a lot of reasons, but mostly because a LOT of punk bands had careers and made money because Offspring became popular around the world. Their fans, and fans of this music should embrace the fact Offspring is still playing live. Or you could spend your time and money on some Disney corporate clone poptart star-wannabe.

The problem is it’s not really “live”. He’s lip synching over studio vocal tracks. Or at least quietly singing over them. Which is too bad because the rest of the band sounds great. I’d rather hear him attempt to sing and butcher it than this.

I notice that when musicians begin to age, or reach an "Over-the-hill" point in their lives, the only thing that really seems to move are their hands on their instruments. They don't express the obnoxious, energetic side they used to have that propelled the song. For example this song here. It's full of energy and it makes me recall the singer going off onstage. But this looks tired. It just looks like they are going through the motions of the song.

when I was in my 20s I always wondered why bands live albums at age 50 did not sound as energized as the live albums when they are young. Duh. Now that I am older of course its not going to quite sound as good because we are old. That being said, as long as the drummer is strong and healthy enough any crowd will keep along with it.
@stevenjackson29673 жыл бұрын
The key to keeping the energy is to hire a young good looking talented musician to energize the crowd. Basically one original aged band member guitarist and a new young gun guitarist. But the problem is $$$$. Plus they don't want to be upstaged by the new guy. A really good idea though is invite a loyal band member fan to be the energize bunny for each city they visit and get up on stage all evening. Or be a lynyrd skyrnyrd hire extra musicians or be in great health like Bog Segar and hire a dietician to dance somewhat again like the lead singer was younger.
