The thing is, A1 pictures was a studio focused on action, they knew how to convey impact with fight scenes, fluidity in s1 and 2, and when they left in s3 and 4 you will see throughout the anime that the fights will suffer in the new studio from this, the lighting is cool, and until ep 7 they maintains an acceptable action, but the designs are inferior and the consistency in the designs especially, and this all only gets worse as the episodes go by, they will cut a lot of things and reduce fights that are much bigger in the manga

It will get to a point where they can no longer deliver action and they will simply speed up rushing and reduce fights, certainly SDS wasn't A1 Pictures' best project, but when needed they delivered fights with PEAK animation and never disappointed, unfortunately it will be completely the opposite here. the only thing they are improving are the lights direction will be worse, there will be no impact animation will be a disaster adaptation will be a mess

One thing they also do a lot is close angles in fights, always with a very close camera, to kinda mask the limitations they have

The authors choices of character design and plot narratives about certain someone having a certain form (not tryna spoil) is questionable which starts to rub off on how characters act and speak- he should’ve talked on authors choice not meliodas as a character

To better explain the Animation quality drop and the censorship, two things changed from S2 to S3. One, the movie happened, and sold poorly. So A1 Studios, who animated for S1 and S2, dropped it. Animation was then passed to Studio Deen, who were too busy with other projects, so they outsourced the work to Marvy Jack, who was on incredible crunch due to this entire bureaucratic debacle. Two, the time this began airing was much earlier in the day in Japan, which has strict censorship laws early in the day due to being the time children are most often watching TV. So, rushed, different animation limited by a child's viewership. Also, episode 1 is filler iirc. So there's also that.

@ when I first watched this show, I did not notice any drop in animation at all (until people naggingly pointed it out to me), if anything I noticed an increase in animation quality, especially the lighting, like in this episode.
