This song means a lot and touches the soul to all of us who live the oilfield life. It is a tough life for the oilfield wives and children, but even tougher for the husbands and daddies out their bustin their ass for us all. I love this song and tears fall every time I hear it. Its a rough life but someone has to do it. And we're oilfield tough, cuz there ain't none tougher

Worked many years GOM and deep sea, but now I stay planted. Mostly work South Texas as a DD now, but from NW OK to SE MS, I've been there. Spend many weeks a time away from my wife and son, and have another on the way. Thanks for the tribute!

The first time I heard this song I was laying in bed with my man. He isn't a full roughnech but he works on a casing crew. It's hard for me to be relaxed when I know he is on the rig. I don't care what people say about roughnecks but they are really good guys and they know how to work. It is a tough life but I wouldn't change it either! :)

Derrick hand from Alaska. Probably the only country song thats ever choked me up. My grandfather was pushing tools on the west side of the Cook Inlet, Ak. He was killed by a boiler explosion while asleep in his atco unit when my mom was thirteen. She married a roughneck and they had me. I grew up on a two and two schedule. Now my bosses are people they broke out. Its a lifestyle and had more than one girl not be able to handle it. Got a good one now though. F!@#, Fight, Trip pipe.

Awesome song, I love fracin' in ND but it sure is rough being away from my family for weeks at a time. As long as my boy never has to go without, I'll work as many hours as they'll let me. Best job I've ever had by far.
