Sir, you are a Hero. I'm young and stupid as hell and don't know shit, but at least I know that much. haha Not all heroes wear capes or carry guns or are just braver than most for a few moments in a firefight. I know we don't know each other and people love to put out opinions and belittle people. I try to Understand People rather than React to them, and Lifelike there are 5 Mins left in it. I've been given it several times actually, Sir. One day it'll be the last 5 mins for us or our Love ones and we will just want 5 more. -I'm about to start a 12-month rotation with FEMA/DHS, all I want is to make sure my parents never have to work again and make life easier for them, they didn't tell me to, they didn't have to. They were both homeless when they started this whole 'Love & Family' thing. I guess I'm just nervous a bit leaving them alone for that long, we are the type of family that when we leave the room we say 'I love you'. I don't need much money, hell as long as I have my family I'll aways be wealthy so I'm planning on buying the Farm for them. Thank you, sir. For your comment and your hard ass work. I mean that. I'm 25 and still know only that I don't know shit. But, I've always respected a hard-working individual like yourself and the Oil workers, Miners, Ironworkers, and all other back-breaking and sometimes mentally agonizing Professions. My uncles and grandfathers did those types of Jobs, and everyone wondered why everyone drank so damn much; those Jobs are for Mentally Strong Men that have so much Love for their Family they'd Sacrifice everything to take care of them. Thank you, Sir, for your comment here. I truly hope your son understands now that you did it all to make sure he had clothes on his back and food in his stomach. - Your new weird Cherokee/ French Friend. As always, Much Love To You And Everyone Here. Been one for about 21 years. You can't be a helpless, needy "flower" and survive in this business. It's like the whole world has conspired to break, disappear or die while he's gone on a hitch. Our house burnt to the ground (with me & the kids in it), I had a major vehicle accident, breaking my back, the water well has gone down & various major appliances breaking. I have had to deal with various pet & livestock dying. My grandma, my dad & my son died while he was on a rig. You just can't snap your fingers & get him home in a couple of hours, especially when he's overseas. We divorced (infidelity on his part) and got back together. With all that said and even with all of the crap storms over the years, I wouldn't trade it or him for anything.

Was in the oilfield for for over 35 years. This is the best song I've heard about it. It is all about family. The first shot is a guy throwing a lit roll of gas soaked toilet paper into a blowout. You have to relight them for various reasons I won't get into. The best people I have ever met in life worked in the oilfield. Will always be.
@attackhelicopter24736 жыл бұрын
why would you relight a well that is blowing fluid and not just flaring gas? curious because Cudd/Red Adair/Boots&Coots made a living off of putting these things out... seems odd to relinquish control of a well, and risk melting the tubinghanger/wellhead's valves..
@leahmae1256 жыл бұрын
While with Chevron, I worked with all the people you mention during 4 blowouts over the years. We relite ours at night before calling it a day. You need to relight them primarily because the job is not done and raw unburned natural gas is extremely explosive. Better to burn it so it is not explosive than let it drift and become explosive from a single spark. Especially if it drifts into your camp. The wellhead equipment is already garbage at this point anyway.
@danatcanyonlake5836 жыл бұрын
Attack, that scene was from Kuwait after Saddam Hussein blew the wellheads off. They did not have control yet and it is less polluting to let the oil burn until you have a capping stack in place ready to go.

There ain't a darker night than the ones I've seen When you're too damn tired to even dream But you come alive when the doghouse screams Oh the oil field's dark as money is green There ain't a headache like the ones that come Between a two week hitch and a seven day run Blood, sweat, spit and a filthy tongue Oh the oil field hurts like a snake bite stung So I'll send a card for Christmas and birthdays missed And I'll sign the papers for the woman that I couldn't kissAnd I'll take the blame if I don't make the good Lord's list But when I die I hope they know it was all for them 'Cause I'd do it all over again There ain't nothing in the world like earning these stripes Then getting put out of work when the price ain't right Yeah I left my soul, my pain, and my strife Oh the oil field holes are filled with my life So I'll send a card for Christmas and birthdays missed And I'll sign the papers for the woman that I couldn't kiss And I'll take the blame if I don't make the good Lord's list But when I die I hope they know it was all for them 'Cause I'd do it all over again

Over a decade and happy to be out!!! Gave me the strength for my family to start our own commercial business. Missing my boys being born because I was on a pad giving my life to holes in the ground!!! I hope my brothers out there find the true meaning of this song before you have to sign the papers of the woman you couldn’t kiss. For those still out there give Mother Earth hell and your family every last ounce of the hero you are

Bless your heart! I have many years in ND…. Literally some of the darkest nights I’ve ever seen! Nights so dark it wads your headlights like they don’t exist, and wind so cold it burns like fire. Update though in PA with four kids and after 12 years of oil…. I have my own commercial trucking business. Bought rigs cash from what I pulled out of the field. Stay strong my brothers and God bless all still in the patch
