im a gers fan but i can appreciate the history and romance of other clubs. i can also comment without resorting to the usual vitriol that accompanies such responses. my closest friends are "tims" so why would i alienate them by making remarks that would hurt them. i enjoy watching old films of not just celtic but all glasgow clubs. i've been to countless euro cup ties at parkhead bcos the atmosphere was always hairs on the back of your neck good. i just love football and the rangers. god bless

Great memories but if truth be told, the stadium and the surrounding area was an absolute dump. I often wondered what foreign visitors on European nights must've thought of it. It was post apocalyptic! Not perfect now but Dalmarnock is reborn, the new sports complex is great,Barrowfield is 10 times better than it used to be,the stadium itself is admittedly basic by modern standards but wonderfully atmospheric and the Celtic way just tops it off. Standing at the foot of a Kerrydale St,it truly is a sight to behold. God bless the 'tic!

I remember going to games in the 70s, 80s,90s, and, although I don't go too often now, it still gets me how sometimes you still get the same buzz, same feelings even though the stadium and whole surrounding area have changed.

That jungle was a better atmosphere than anything in the world, truly spine tingling, the yellow wall isn't even comparable and I'd say its even better than the Casablanca teams. Could get emotional watching this all the memories there but we still have one of the best atmospheres in the world but North African and South American atmospheres are better but there was only one Jungle on the planet nowhere else came close.

Goosebumps from this, and I'm a Rangers man through and through. History and tradition is something near-enough dead in football now. Regardless of affiliations; all-seater stadia, corporate ownership, astronomical wages and ticket prices are taking the romance out of what was once a working man's proud sport. It's sad to see. I'm 17, but show me football grounds in the 70's and 80's, terraces bouncing and show me your flashy all-seaters nowadays and I'd take the first option in a heartbeat.

There was no better atmosphere in Scottish/British/european stadiums than the 1 you got in the jungle I stood in the middle underneath the TV cameras bit in the middle with the rest of the Royston bhoys so many memories I've cheered, laughed & cried the most standout game my god there's just so many to choose from the 1 game that does come to mind was a time there was no way we were getting into the jungle ,21 May 1979 title decider was a game we had to win problem was we were playing the huns they only needed to draw mind those days you only got 2 points for a win anyway this game had everything goals sending off own goals the bhoys they scored we equalised they bf score again then John Doyle got sent off for a rather high tackle we get a 2nd equaliser then Colin Jackson scored a of 3_2 to the Celts &murdo hit a shot he hoped would go up to the back of the Celtic end but it landed up in the top corner 4_2 no way back for the huns what made this extra special was it was my 1st time I saw us clinch the title tho not to be my last that memory will live with me till my last hh

Much as I enjoyed it , let’s be honest it was relic and was well past it’s sell by date . The bare minimum was spent on the upkeep of it and by 94 it wa a dump . Low points-there were many but the high points during the dark days are what i remember, watching Paul Elliot show everyone exactly what makes a real CB, beating the huns twice in a week, Jackie scoring 4 against Partizan and being able to watch the game with 20 of your mates, brilliant memories.
