Celtic are an entirely different squad with CCV. The Rock of Gibraltar in the centre, great in distribution, brilliant in support of attack. Liam and Auston are very good and capable of holding their own, but Cam is a completely different animal. I can see a situation in European competition in which we might use three centre halves with wingbacks. Curious whether Brendan has ever considered it.

It was a difference in class - Celtic had the luxury of being able to rest key players with a huge squad. While Aberdeen had to play with the same team they've played with all season - So far. Speaking as a Forest Green Rovers supporter I can appreciate the Aberdeen community getting behind their team ( after getting beaten 6--0 ) and the team itself didn't make any excuses. All respect to Aberdeen.

The gulf between Celtic, and to some extent Rangers, and the rest of Scottish football is harming the Scottish game. When the gulf between the two top form sides in Scotland is 6-0, a complete domination all over the pitch, then why even bother contesting the match, or the cup, or the league? This is why the commercial rights and TV deal is so poor; nobody is interested in such a gulf. Scottish football needs major restructuring change.

Celtic are a class above, and I don’t think anyone can deny that. However Aberdeen really were tired, physically, menatally, and emotionally after Wednesday night. This happens to Celtic all the time coming off a huge European result (when they get them) and they look completely flat for the next 3-4 days after. It happened after the Slovan Bratislava game when Celtic were trailing until the 70th minutes against lower league opposition. And it happened last year when they beat Feyenoord in the Champions league and then came back and laid an egg against Hearts and lost 2-0 at home. It happens to every team, and Aberdeen isn’t immune to it either.
