Great shots. Love the Lomo B&W shots, especially your processing of the skies. All too often I see really overcooked skies with deep blacks that were not in the original scene, processed like that to add drama. It just looks unreal to me. Your skies look like they were what you saw on the day, but lifted slightly to show them off to best effect. Can’t whack a great sky!

It is interesting to see the images made by two great photographers using two very different cameras. Thank you.

I had a Lomo LCA-120 & we just didn't get along & I sold it. We all have cameras that work for us & some of them don't. Your photos with it were wonderful!

Splendid video and images Martin. It's been awhile since I've watched your channel, I need to catch up your past films. I always enjoy seeing Yorkshire, it's home to me but I now live in Oregon.

Great location and beautiful photographs. They must be the best quality shots I have ever seen from a Lomo. You have given me an idea for my next outing! Thanks. Keith

Great photos Martin, and a subject so well suited to b&w. I've been holding off buying a Lomo 120, but your shots might have pushed me over the edge.

A picture speaks a 1000 words as the saying goes and some of those spoke louder than others, displaying the isolation and hardship that it must’ve been to have worked there and it’s a testimony to the lifestyle, like the old crofters cottages, disgusting that people can’t respect something they visit, but really nice to see the different viewpoints, as I say the way that you or the photos displayed and evoked the isolation and what the hardship must’ve been, just to get there 200 year ago let alone do what was probably a 12 hr shift. really good.

As I walked around I was thinking how hard the conditions must have been there, also Children worked there as well 🙄

@@martinhensonphotography Yes I can imagine, I had older parents, mum born 1909 and her mum who used to come and visit us from the other side of Manchester Cheetham was born 1883 she came every Sunday three buses and a mile walk and I used to go back with her and me dad in the evening, got a Fry’s five boys on the way home, Nana 89 when she last came, as she got knocked down and still carried on to 99, the night before she died, she told my Auntie Nora who she lived with, well it was her house. I’m giving up and was dead the next morning, they don’t make em like that anymore, list her husband in first war and she was a postwoman, very interesting story’s of the life that was. But out on the Moors in all weathers, they don’t know hardship today, well not in this country! Keep up the vlogs, always interesting 🧐 I even bought a couple of cameras you’ve done vlogs on.

Great video Martin… my youngest brother is Martin Lydell XXXX… but goes by Marty. Glad to see you out with another photographer. Imparting your knowledge and experience. There is quite a bit of esthetic differences between your two imaging series beyond the color, format, shear number and subjects. When I look at a scene I focus on things in it that are interesting to me and then try to enhance those areas by composing and using exposure manipulations to call attention them. With the reverse here, by you, I get to look thru your eyes at a scene I most likely will never get to see otherwise. Thank you for all the videos you have made, are making and planning on making.

Great video Martin. Can I ask what film and developer you used? Thanks.
@martinhensonphotography
@martinhensonphotography Жыл бұрын
I used Ilford HP5+ and developed it in 510 pyro diluted 1 to 100, dev time was 9mins 20c, best to fix these types of developers in a Alkaline fixer to retain the maximum staining on the negative

Thanks Martin, I'm familiar with 510 Pyro and development requirements. I use a lot of Ilfotec HC to develop my Ilford films. A nice one to try if you've not before.@@martinhensonphotography
