Grandpa Amu, I truly enjoy your videos, you remind me so much of my grandfather, he passed away when I was 13, but for those 13 years that man tought me 89 years of knowledge, just like yourself, he was a jack of all trades and built everything with this own hands, I spent every days just absorbing as much as i could, there was still so much more to learn, i'm 34 and I miss him every single day, watching these videos takes me back to them days, thank you for that, you are truly appreciated by many around the world sir.

What an amazing build. This is the largest piece I've seen Grandpa Amu build and from the largest piece of Pearwood I've ever seen. That beautiful wood in that size would cost a small fortune here where I live. Glad Grandpa Ama has access to such beautiful wood to work with.

No one seems to appreciate Grandpa Amu's special carpentry talent here. His carpentry is incredibly difficult internal work both physically to work and to design. The finished articles stay linked together for eternity as they grew in one piece only now with inseparable interlocking moving components. Very interesting talent that you do not see elsewhere. It is a similar art to the large carved stone Tigers you see complete with a sphere in their mouth that is irremovable and carved from the same piece of stone only Grandpa's components are multiple and functional not just artistic. Very impressive unique talent from the master.

What is the beautiful wood you use? My friends and I admire your skill but also love the material you work with. It looks to me like Chinese rosewood, but it’s a very rare and expensive wood.

Some think this is Japanese. Granpa AMU is Chinese. Brilliant mind of a genius. This is also an ancient Chinese art form, not Japanese. Gyoza is a Japanese copy of the Chinese pot stickers GuoTie; ramen is the Japanese copy of the Chinese ancient La Mien or pulled noodles; mochi is the Japanese copy of muah Chee, an age old Chinese glutinous rice dessert. Sushi and sashimi were eaten in China long before they appeared in Japan; cameras as we know them today are German inventions, not from Canon or Sony. They say copying is the highest form of a compliment. So it’s ok to copy. Just don’t claim it as your invention just by sheer mass marketing.
