/ @nickfoleyuk Hi how are you doing? On a lovely Sunday afternoon I just had time to pop into the studio and discuss the merits of the Leslie 3300 and in particular this time with the very old school Hammond C3. I wondered how it would sound, whether Hammond Suzuki had made it for the XK series, generalised it or focussed on the old.
Interesting results I thought. Tell me what you think?
These 3300's are really something. If you are in the UK your best bet for getting one is direct from HammondUK (www.hammondorg...) tell them who sent you, you never know! More from me exclusively at / nickfoleyuk

I'd love to play the world in action theme on that. It's an absolutely filthy sounding beast, and i love it!

great stuff and review! My Tornado 315 sounds nowhere near as good as this :( - I will try some slightly different mic angling as it has nothing like the stereo spread of your setup.

It's old. It's heavy. It's cumbersome to move and it looks like it belongs in a church and it's BEAUTIFUL!! It's the real deal that all the digital relatives want to be like when they grow up. It's not trying to copy or sound like something else.I know that it was meant to be a less expensive alternative for pipe organs but I won't mention that. It's the mothership and it's awesome. The Leslie horn ramp up was noticeably longer and the horn had a noticeably slower fast speed and it sounded really horny good. Am I hearing things? Heaven is a place on earth..... Your place 🤣👍

Cheers Nick! The horn ramp up and down are configurable but set at stock. It’s something I need to look into as the bass fall seems a little slow for sure.

Same setup here 👍 Also because the 3300W is the only "little" cabinet fitting inside my isobox (no room for a larger isobox in studio). I take a great help from a Speakeasy 122 AMA preamp, but still it has overall the 3300 sound 😮 Now the new "little" 142 could be a great replacement... who knows 😂😂😂😂

I think the C3 into the Leslie 2200 sounds great! I just bought a 3300 to pair with my Hammond SKX Pro and my SK Pro, and it's loud. 👍 Nick, with the Overdrive feature in the SK Pro series, I'm wondering why you would need the dirty stompbox effects (example: Tall & Fat, etc.) that you have featured in other videos, although I must say I have enjoyed them very much! Great video!

There’s something about the fall and fat that warms up that pre amp area

Ok, so I'm buying an SKX Pro to go beyond my Nord Stage 3 (and get dual manuals) at church. I want a Leslie now, too - but for me it's either wait (here in Boston) for a vintage Leslie to show up for sale, fix it, and hope for the best. OR, buy a new 3300. I'm so new to it - and the 3300 will be volume-down'd and mic'd in church - that I'm tempted to NOT wait for a vintage 122 or 147. For somebody who isn't quite as authentic as you, but who wants that Leslie cabinet bass powering through, will I be happy with a 3300?

I think there’s plenty of bass out of that 3300. It’s also expandable with outputs to another Amp if needed. Just my thoughts but I’ve never used it in the setting you will be using it.

@@nickfoleyuk Hadn't thought about the expandability. I doubt I'll need that; but it's nice to hear your comment about "... plenty of bass." Thanks for replying!

you are f ing amazing on the Hammond!!! Do you teach online at all? I'm a guitar player and been on keys for about 5 years now, switching over to rock organ now and want to learn those runs you do so well. Just purchased the 3300 for my new SK1. Im ready and dedicated to getting this down
