I wish when I was younger I took more pictures of the railroad landscape around me how much it has changed in my life just around home.

Just came across your channel interesting history on the Reading. My grandfather worked for the Reading for 50 years He started at the Rutherford yards as a call boy. Was called the Philadelphia and Reading when he started. He started in 1914 then in 1932 he went to Hershey as a car inspector for Hershey Chocolate. Cool video. I watched Part 2 first then part 1.

Fun fact, the R&N was supoose to have bought all 3 segments of the Lehigh Line (Sayre to Allentown), however the CR buyout put an end to the other segments being sold off.

Thanks! I didn't know that.

Excellent as always AC!! I find it interesting that rails from afar look "blocky" like GTA Vice City graphics.

That's funny, I never quite thought of it that way!

Very informative. The 1950s Wanner photo of what you describe as the former Reading, running past the station looks to me to be part of the former PRR Buffalo Line, south of what is now CP Kase, where the line to Scranton and Bingo, (former PRR Wilkes Barre branch to Buttonwood,) splits off before the Susquenanna bridge. You describe the tracks crossing at grade at SF Tower as the PRR. Where were these cross tracks going, being so close (4 blocks,) to the river bank?? Appreciate your clarification AC.

The RDG tracks turned north and paralleled the PRR to Williamsport (Newberry Jct.).

Thanks for your reply AC. I’ve cleared it up in my mind now. The Wanner photo is facing west, (not north.) I have located the old Reading depot and disused signal bridge on Google Maps. Thanks again. Please keep up your very informative videos.
