THE OLD RIFLE- 1 EPS HD - English subtitles

1941, Soviet Union. Pyotr is a math teacher in a small village near Rostov. He is ignorant to politics and quite sure that calm and loyal behaviour can make one invisible in the eyes of the authorities. Everything changes very rapidly. After a ferocious fight Red Army retreats and Nazis take into the possession of the small bit of land. They impose a curfew and order to hand over all the weapons under the threat of the execution. That is the way tragedy comes into Pyotr's family so he has to take out old hidden rifle and be ready to act.

Thanks for posting this, this is the saddest movie series I have ever seen. I actually prefer this Russian version to the original 1975 movie. If there were ever a modern day Job, it is this poor man who saw his family murdered,and his beloved burned alive. To me the Russian people, and army are the unsung heroes of WW2 in my opinion. They suffered so much, but it was not in vain because if God forbid the Germans had won it would have been catastrophic for the whole world.

Last few years I started watching Russian movies before I thought Steven Spielberg is the best director but now I think he is nothing in front of Russian directors actors music you Russian are the best best extra best. Americans should learn from you how to make movies.

Soo true... In my opinion Russian war movies maybe not as spectacular as American war movies.. but way more realistic than American war movies.. Russian war movies simply the best for me
