This really hit the nail on the head for me. I grew up in a middle class home. I had the ultimate blessing of having a father, grandfather, grandmother, and mother who understood the VALUE of teaching me WORK ETHIC over education. Education is VERY important. But education without work ethic is NOTHING. I started working at 12 years old bagging groceries in Boca at Kings Deli. I always loved to work; I’ve never been able to sit still. I graduated a year early so I could work more, several years later I started my own business in construction and I’ve been BLESSED. HARD WORK. My grandfather always told me, work hard, show up, and care about what you do and you will be SUCCESSFUL!

We are Floridians and have been camping on the River (Kissimmee) since 1960 as a child. We watched them ditch it and thankfully they have filled in part of the ditch to return it back into the old river run. We spent most of our time from Kissimmee Lake south to about the southern end of the bombing range. Spent a lot of time camping and eating catfish and turtles over the years. We enjoy your videos a lot, thanks for sharing.

Spanish moss I like to call "sea weed", in 2004, I worked in a RV resort near I-75. The snowbirds arrived in town as we were still cleaning up the park from to 2 hurricanes, 29 trucks of downed trees after 5 weeks of no power. One of the 1st campers at my desk to check in had never been to Florida, he was from Michigan. he heard all the chatter of the storms and serious ask me. "is that seaweed in the trees?".....I can never see the moss without thinking of that ever again.

@Coorsive3 жыл бұрын
I just hate the whole “survival challenges” trend cause they really aren’t “survival”… dudes bring all their shit, tents, knives, camping supplies and a whole camera and cell phone. If it was legit where they only brought their cameras to document and made their own shelters and sourced their own food and really struggled to survive it would be cool but these cheesy survival vids where people bring a gallon of water with them are lame

That’s the problem not many have work ethic. The company I work for, we have hired 6 people in the past 2 months and all of them have quit with in the first week. They want the money but don’t want to work for it. Just the traveling alone is working for you and Kelly, packing, lugging everything along is a job in itself. You both rock!

In Kentucky what you call a butter cat is called a mud cat. They are strong tasting muddy. We call the smaller speckled catfish Fiddlers. They are a favorite for most people in Kentucky. Just gut, skin, and fry. I love my Kentucky and living by Kentucky Lake, Barkley, and all the other waterways. Living on our farm is the best. I want to go deep sea fishing before our Lord calls me home. Gonna be seventy two this year, so I need to get on the ball. I really enjoy your shows. I love learning new things even at my age. And I can tell you from experience IT TAKES TIME......a LOT of time. Lord knows I've hit some rough patches too. There's an old saying: Many if not most successful people are the very same ones who failed the most. But they never gave up trying again & again. It's easy to fail a few times & give up. I think the work ethic is the driving force to be successful! The second thing, that supports that, is to surround yourself with people you want to be like and look up to! It is both a support network and an inspiration that you can do and be better! BTW...I knew that catfish was going to be good........you can't go wrong grilling fish!

Let me start by saying I was raised in northern Minnesota and know a thing or two about fishing, camping and hunting. So I do love your videos. But...... I've been thinking about this particular video for a few days now since I watched it and listened to what you said about dropping out of HS in the 9th grade, and you sounded quite proud of it. I thought about biting my tongue and not saying anything. But I like your channel and Kelly's channel, and even Robert's channel (a little bit), and I just couldn't leave it alone. The cold hard fact is, you got very very very lucky to be so successful. You are so right when you say it takes hard work and a great work ethic, but it also takes being in the right place at the right time with the right set of circumstances. And for MOST PEOPLE that doesn't happen, and dropping out in the 9th grade is not going to cut it. MOST PEOPLE need at least High School to be successful. You talk about wanting to teach your boys to be "men", part of that is teaching them that education is very important, just as important as a good work ethic. You seem proud that you were able to accomplish all this with only a 9th grade education..... That pride lost a little bit of my respect for you. If you are half the man you claim to be, you'll go back and finish High School and get a diploma. It does not take that much time, and you'll be better for it. Your kids will be better for it. I'd love to see you succeed in finishing HS and getting a diploma. That's it, there I said it. (sorry if it pisses you off).

Kinda reminds me of us locals at fernandina in our youth in the backwaters. Catching, digging, netting bait, minus the 1000 gators, we had a few though. No boat just biking or walking to the marshes, poles, shotgun and matches. We cooked and ate everything lol. 50 years ago so don’t flip out about rules, regulations and no cell phone to call mom if you scratched your finger. Hahaha. Oh the good ole days. Great video Gabe.

That video was so bad ass bro!! I can’t believe that little gator was just chillin at the bottom and no joke I thought to myself I wonder what the odds of a big gator chilling below the water is, and low and behold Blue Gabe nets a small one. I would have freaked and lucky you it didn’t look like your net took much damage??? In any case I’m glad to hear your numbers are staying solid. You’re a cool cat for sure. Would love to meet you one of these days. I was at Bud N’ Mary’s last weekend, I went fishing on a charter. I was thinking it sure would be cool to see you, or your big bro, or even Nick Stanzyk would have been kick ass!! No luck though… we did catch some nice fish. We caught a mutton snapper, a couple different mackerel, a few king fish, and a few trash Bonitas. Took it to LazyDayz and they cooked up the snapper for us along with a little king and A little bit of the Mackerel. Had the snapper made LazyDayz way and bro if you know you know!! That shit was fire buddy!! Wow!! Good talk hope you read!! ✌️ let’s go fishing buddy!! 🙏🏽😀🤣🤣😂😂
