I've been a big Hurrians fan ever since the release of their 1400 (BCE) album, Ugarit. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when No. 6 came out in 1403, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Lipit Ishtar, but I think Hurrians have a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

Since this is a song that I like a lot, per KZbin comment rules I am obligated to say how underrated it is, ask who is listening to this in 2022 and thank the cameraman for going back 4,000 yrs. to film it.
@lightyagami1752 Жыл бұрын
And I am obligated under the same rules to tell you that time-travelling cameramen don't exist, which then obligates someone else to reply to me with an obligatory "r/whooosh". Then someone else is obligated to ask "what song is playing?ktx v much", which then obligates someone else to reply "Darude: Sandstorm". Finally, seeing my reply, someone else will be obligated to remark that they see it's not my first day on the Internet. And I am obligated to not respond to that.

Its really interesting that the second I heard Drumbrill's version of the song, i felt chills because there was something in that I felt was just true. Like I was going back in time. Also his song's singer sounds like modern Arabic singer's and the inflections that they have and that makes sense to me, since the ancient traditions of a region are often hidden in plain site embedded in that country's contemporary culture - hidden, but weaved throughout it.

I think there's something special to not knowing how the original actually sounded like. That way people can interpret it in their own way, making music that would have probably been made at the time, in an attempt to recreate the original. That being said, it's sad to see so much knowledge lost to time... Time erodes everything, even old favorites, legends and myths.
