I've been a big Hurrians fan ever since the release of their 1400 (BCE) album, Ugarit. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when No. 6 came out in 1403, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Lipit Ishtar, but I think Hurrians have a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

Its really interesting that the second I heard Drumbrill's version of the song, i felt chills because there was something in that I felt was just true. Like I was going back in time. Also his song's singer sounds like modern Arabic singer's and the inflections that they have and that makes sense to me, since the ancient traditions of a region are often hidden in plain site embedded in that country's contemporary culture - hidden, but weaved throughout it.

I think there's something special to not knowing how the original actually sounded like. That way people can interpret it in their own way, making music that would have probably been made at the time, in an attempt to recreate the original. That being said, it's sad to see so much knowledge lost to time... Time erodes everything, even old favorites, legends and myths.

I know. We used to have "Gods on Chariots of Fire" come visit us n we LOVED IT and now we have "Aliens on UFO's" and we have MASS PANIC. 😂😂😂😂 Funny how a few thousand yrs changes things.😅😊

I remember cranking this up in a past life, if you’re wondering, yes we did have speakers and sound systems back then. History has just been hidden from us

It is interesting that people knew that Christ was going to come 14 centuries later.

That disturbing moment when a ancient incomplete song and music piece have more melody, harmony and actual structure then some genres of today.
