The Oldest Neighborhood in California - Los Rios Historic District - San Juan Capistrano, CA

Explore with me the oldest neighborhood in California called Los Rios Historic District. It is located in San Juan Capistrano, California. The nearby Mission San Juan Capistrano was the first of the 21 California Missions to have Indians, soldiers and workers live outside the mission grounds.
The forty homes that remain here include three original adobe structures. The Montanez, the Rios, and the Silvas are all that remain of the adobes that housed the builders of the mission and the mission ranch workers in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
River Street Ranch Zoo is just a 2-minute walk from Los Rios District. This zoo has horses, guinea pigs, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, a Llama, an Alpaca, an Emu, and a Cow.

Thank you for the memories. I grew up in San Juan Capistrano as a kid in the 70's and attended Del Obispo elementary school there. It's a charming place, and about as expensive as Hawaii where I live now!
