“Magic” es una canción que fue parte de la banda sonora de la Película Xanadu.
Fue escrita y producida por John Farrar y grabada por Olivia el año 1979.
Fue lanzada en Mayo de 1980 como el primer single del álbum.
Estuvo 4 semanas en el primer lugar de los top 100 de Billboard y destacada también en distintos rankings mundiales.
El mismísimo John Lennon, dijo en una entrevista para Newsweek en septiembre del 80 (poco antes de morir) que era una canción nueva que le gustaba mucho.
“Una contagiosa balada pop”, “Una inspiración para lograr los propios sueños” fueron algunas de las frases que los distintos medios utilizaron para describir este tremendo hit que nunca deja de sorprendernos…
Realmente hay algo mágico en este tema.

I will start this comment with a massive compliment. The young lady singing this song sounds very similar to Olivia Newton John. She is very talented. And I have to compliment the guitar players. They are very talented. But with these compliments comes a caveat. The guy playing the synthesizer needs some lessons on how to emulate ELO. He really does a poor job of emulating ELO.

Magic es una canción escrita y producida por John Farrar y si bien está en la OST de Xanadu, no tiene el sonido de ELO. Transcribimos cada parte musical con mucha rigurosidad, y hemos ido mejorando con el sonido. Cambiamos algunos músicos y si comparas con los videos más antiguos que comentaste, verás que el pianista actual no es el mismo. Saludos desde Chile.
