When the actor playing Egon Olsen died, some prisoners at the prison (vridsloselille state penitentiary) Egon Olsen always goes to, suggested to the management of the prison that the road leading to the prison was renamed from Fængselsvej (prison road) to Egon Olsens Vej(road) It was unanimously approved at the city hall.

If im not wrong The Olsen Banden/Gang is a Norwegian thing. It originated from Norway? Edit: after further research i found out that it was Danish writer who came up with the concept, but it was the Norwegians that really ran with it and made it kind of their thing.
@MrPhils1
@MrPhils1 Жыл бұрын
@@Drakengard65Olsen Banden was created by Erik Balling and Henning Bahs, two Danish movie makers. The danish movies was then released in Norway to moderate success. The Danish humor didn’t really sit well with the Norwegian people. The concept was then sold to Norway, who then remade some of the Danish versions and then went their own way, which then became a big success. Trough the years Erik and Henning made a lot of fun of Norway in their movies😂 I think they did the same in the Norwegian versions. The Scandinavian banter as always

5 FACTS about the Olsen Gang you didn't know: 1. Ove Sprogøe (the actor playing Egon) did pretty much all his own stunts in all the movies. One of them almost cost him his life. 2. Olsenbanden ser rødt (no 8) Sold over 1.2 million tickets in Denmark a record that hasn't been broken since. 3. The movies were written in april, shot in june/july and had premiere in the fall the same year. That's 6 months. Another record never been borken since 4. None of the characters exsisted untill Lotte Dandanell created their costumes. 5. Every script for The Olsen Gang, started with: Where is Yvonne now, what is she doing.

@@julius6889 it was in the 6th film, where behind the scenes Ove really wanted to go on a stunt revolving being pulled down in water by a chain lifter, but The Director told him it was recommended he should'nt get on, because they already build a puppet for the stunt and they knew it whould be dangerous if he tryed. So in the final shot they used that puppet and what do you know? It got destroyed because the chain hit so hard down that the float of the water made it collide on the head. So thank god Ove did'nt turn crazy and got on there! even though he actually got mad after being told by the director

That scene in the opera house is amazing. I just saw "The Blacklist" do a version of this in their 6th season, but it was no where near as good. Totally beaten by a scene from a film that is more than 40 years old. This video also cut out the best part from the scene where Egon gets cement shoes. When he is freed, they take of his mouth cover and it is revealed that he had a lit cigar stump (his signature feature) in his mouth the whole time.

This, THIS was one of the greatest parts of my childhood. One of my favorite parts (right after Egon insulting the guys for messing up) is when Yvonne says: "And there comes the police, for example" One of the guys: "The police? we gotta get away" *The guy then flee out the back door asap* Yvonne: "And then they just leave, *sign,* men" (That's the best translation I can make, like so many things, it sounds best in its native language)

alot can and should be said about the Olsen Banden Movies. One thing i will mention is that people should pay close attention to the many statements and explanations the older Police investigator (played by Axel Strøbye) directs towards his younger police colleague in the movies. there is some profound truths spilled out among all the comedy and satire. og ellers så der bare at sige : Skide Godt, Egon! Du Var GENIAL =)

Pretty good introduction to the Olsen gang. I do think the instructors and makers of the films especially Erik Balling and Henning Bahs. For their timing and genius ways of making gadgets and plans that the gang uses. In an older interview, Ove Sprogøe (the actor that players Egon Olsen) said that they wanted to "blow up" some of the order of society is sort of an anarchist way - "place a few bombs under society" And you can see this as "the enemy" of the gang is often bureaucrats, millionaires or nobility. Just look at the scene with the bureaucrat saying that its "nothing personal" even the fact that he has ordered Egon to be blown up :D sort of a satire on how bureaucrats run society via formal un-personal systems blinded for there personal consequences for "the little man on the floor"

Would love to see how Hollywood versions of The Olsen Gang movies would work. And i think Timothy Dalton would fit as Egon, Keanu Reeves as Benny & Wayne Knight as Kjeld. Its 1 of my alltime favorite movie franchises. I think a simple google search for Olsen Gang subtitles will help you. Often there will be people who make the subtitles them selves and upload them for others to use. So they may not be super accurate / official, but still usable. If you watch the movie with something like VLC player, then you can import the subtitle file and have it follow the audiotrack.
