I’m a little disappointed they ranked so low also. Sure, they’re scary, but the game wouldn’t be the same without songs like “Your Catastrophes ~ Procession”, “Sinking”, and “A Red Shape” which play perfectly into the tensest moments of the game.

@@LavosTheOneEyedTick "Just Leave Me Alone" hit a lot harder me than "It Means Everything", both contextually and music wise. Seeing Faraway Aubrey for the first time, realizing she was about to beat you up after picking on Basil, and then you "accidentally" stabbing her was just one jaw-dropping, gut-punching moment after another. The loudness of the music perfectly captured the moment.

i think the reason why most of the black space songs were so low was because the people who voted mostly ranked them by how good they were to listen to over anything else
@LavosTheOneEyedTick2 жыл бұрын
Most likely, I also think some were voted lower since they aren't significant enough to be recognizable compared to other tracks. Even the black space songs that ranked higher, they have something that stands out. For example, a song similar to the ones which ranked so low, spaces in-between, becomes recognizable and emotional because it repeats and thus repeatedly highlights that inner loneliness of Omori.

I love the Black Space songs because of that. They drive stakes of fear into my heart and those distorted, corrupted noises send static screeching over my vision. It's jarring, but not in a bad way. It gives the player that senseless, weightless terror that Sunny no doubt felt after 'the incident.' Other songs do that too, (My Time being a great example) but I wish that the Black Space soundtrack ranked higher for the F-ing *brilliant* way they twist the senses.

i remember it being so incredibly hard to choose my favorite. and, it still is. omori is amazing in every aspect, with visuals, the music, the story. it will never cease to amaze me. thats why it was so hard. i remember being torn between a home for flowers (tulip) and WEV. both of them are stunning although being almost opposite in themes. on one end, you could feel comfort and joy knowing you had your friends around you. on the other hand, you could be in the hands of your enemy, fighting through a thrilling adventure. i guess looking back at it, thats exactly what omori is about. i chose duet for my favorite, because even with how much i adore the adrenaline of fast-paced songs, it just.. hits me, straight in the heart. when i first heard it, it was all pieced together. all the leitmotifs from throughout the game, i finally realized it leads back to that point. i couldnt help but feel emotional, i have put so many hours into omori, and looking back on the memories, the emotion, and every aspect just wrecks me with emotion. i cried so many times looking back, i wish i could play it for the first time again. the way duet is put out is absolutely stunning. the visuals, the time signature, the artwork, when you look at it you cant help but feel a sense of comfort. omori will never cease to be one of my all-time favorite games. it will stay in my heart forever.
@LavosTheOneEyedTick2 жыл бұрын
OMORI is definitely one of my favorite works of art in any entertainment medium, and it has my favorite story in a video game for sure. I feel like, for me, while Duet probably isn't my personal favorite song from the game (though it's definitely in the top 10), I would say it's objectively the best. The emotions and message of the game, perfectly conveyed with how this song's been building up throughout the game... The OMORI soundtrack is helped by it's wide and varied tones in style - hell, even Basil's theme, A Home For Flowers, takes four distinct tones throughout the game - the quirky headspace one (tulip), the quiet one with twinges of melancholy (empty), the solemn piano one (daisy), and the nostalgic reflection of memories past (sunflower). Duet, though, makes for a perfect example of why Omori works - despite all the quirkiness, the fast-paced, upbeat vibes or the ominous, ambient ones, and how much it jumps in between them, it's those central tunes, the core elements, the parts and things and instruments that keep coming back, which ultimately remind us to keep moving forward, and as a result the journey the Duet leitmotif takes throughout the game perfectly compliments Sunny's own.

16:11 Fun fact: both songs use the same trumpet sample, the "Roland SD90 Romantic Tp", better known as the "ZUNpet" due to its heavy use in the music of the Touhou Project (composed by ZUN, hence the name). I'm pretty sure that Flouring with You also uses this sample. also EDIT/ADDENDUM: I'm not sure on this, but based on the similar soundfont of the two songs, and their names, "World's End Valentine" and "GOLDENVENGEANCE" *may* be references to two songs from the Umineko soundtrack, "worldsenddominator" and "goldenslaughterer". also EDIT/ADDENDUM 2 (i'm a wordy guy): My favorites were in order: #1 Final Duet, #2 OMORI, #3 By Your Side, #4 Forest Frenzy, #5 A Home for Flowers (all versions), #6 Trees... #7 Where We Used to Play, #8 White Surf Style 6, #9 Lost Library and #10 Squall. If Media Motifs isn't doing it, I appreciate you doing it. *HUGE LIST BELOW. BEWARE MOBILE USERS* 1:30 Gonna expect we have a Mettaton effect where some really sick songs get some mysteriously low placements 2:48 I see 3:00 And yet it's so low 4:00 I agree and I didn't know that 4:05 This one should have been 10-20 spots higher 4:48 I completely agree. Everything about A Home For Flowers was genius, from name sharing, to My Catastrophes 6:11 Two amazing songs. And we are this low 6:49 Loving the trivia 9:59 I liked this song. Reminds me how Last Stand is a dark reprise of Federation, but you never hear Federation in game. Only you do hear Good Morning after 10:48 I agree. Very dissappointing 12:38 And I love it. Some of these placements will probably feel baffling 12:59 Wow! Thanks for the info! 13:17 My least favourite Phobia song. Could have been lower but I have no complaints 13:29 Honestly that one could have been 20 lower but not many complaints 13:38 When I think this and How... Tragic! I think about Gor The Fans and Oh! One true love!. They sound similar 13:53 No comment :D 14:16 That song was sick +3 What a coincidence 14:25 YES INDEED! 14:37 I love instruments that sound like voices, both in this game (this song, Tussle Among Trees) and in others (Crypt of The Necrodancer, which was also used in It's Pronounced "Rules" 15:01 I love how the footage just... lingers 15:21 Blank Slate made this one great. I like it's placement 15:43 Small Shock is better, but it's great 15:55 Hey I will be looking through the OST later because I swear a leitmotif from bo en's Winter Valentine is used but I forgot where. If you know, tell me. 16:56 I agree. This song is very underrated, ususally. I like where it is 17:10 I also know about a few songs which sound very similar to Minecraft ones, but I haven't listed them yet 17:25 Underrated as hell. Bump it 25 places up at least. Will tell you what to bump down 18:03 Hm 18:30 I disagree but Damn is it a highlight. 18:47 TfTI 19:15 I always remember this song 19:27 Underrated. 10 places up 20:14 I always forget where this plays 20:31 I can't say how many I love because comment too long 21:10 I would love to bump this one some but to be honest? It's more on nostalgia than objective facts 21:30 I agree, but I never use it +16 wow 22:18 Such a classic, but glad it wasn't higher 22:34 I would pick this and Space road to bump down so YC~P and FSiTC could rise. Sorry 22:43 This is my favourite Phobia song, but I wouldn't swuander my influence in bumping it 23:05 Circus music is always great. In DR, in GK2... so good 23:20 Whatever You Say 23:54 It's admirable 24:02 This one is special for me but I wouldn't bump it 24:57 An absolute classic, as the first and Overworld fight themes 25:13 Bruh. This needs a 10 bump up. The normal fight theme I remember most, even if it's not my favourite. 25:43 Such a great theme 26:05 >1000 Shinji 26:09 Legendary song. Hit me when I noticed the leitmotif first time. Wouldn't bump it though. 26:37 I be willin' to bump this down in exchange 27:00 Moment of respect for the superb naming conventions in this OST 27:29 Honorary mention: Something's Disney Eurobeats sound clip. 27:42 Such a good song 27:56 Noooooo! I was afraid of this. For me, The Vengeance Of Those Forgotten In Darkness is better than GOLDENVENGEANCE. As such, if GDVG is less than #22, I want them to swap places. Otherwise, bump this up by X and lower GDVG by X+5. 28:09 Also sad no comment 28:24 Honorary mention: Hero's song in Spaceboy's keyboard. That sequence was so cool. +4 Word. I could bump this down but I am not an assertive person. I go with the list and disregard minor changes unless it's big. 28:42 This song is so good for me but I get it's placement. Also, since this OST is 179 songs, 50 is already more than the top 30% and that's how much good songs should be. 29:05 I forgot this song existed. The scene is one of the best but the song can certainly suffer a 9 drop 29:29 Ok? I don't get why but sure 29:46 A very solid song. I like where it is 30:10 Almost want to bump it but I resist it. So good tho. +6 Really? Didn't know. What? Zoltan(EX)? Lanius(EX)? That's the first OST I ever listened to. I loved the dynamic shift and that it was nondistracting. For more, see 14:37's comment. 30:38 Solid and cool 30:58 I SWEAR this is based off Minecraft OST. But I can't remember which 31:39 My favourite normal fight theme. So cool and fluid. Motivating. I think you could bump this by 4 at least unless I change my mind. 32:08 Valid, but if i had made this list, it would probably be closer to Crossroads. 32:24 Not disliking the absolute or relative placement of this 32:47 I quite like it, but it ain't mine. Very good, still. 33:05 And it's almost as intelligible as BIG SHOT's. I am happy with the placement. That fight was outstanding +16 Even though it's only my third favourite battle theme (could bump down) it's still an AMAZING track and I am happy to see it this high. 33:50 Ayup 34:03 And they are great 34:26 I agree. I loved it so much. 34:40 ENTIRELY DESERVED. PRINTER AS INSTRUMENT IS OUTSTANDING!. Bump TVOTFID to here and lower GDVG to two above TVOTFID's previous spot and we are cool 35:05 Goes without sqying since we are so high but this should be below TAT's new spot. 4th best normal fight track 35:41 The relative placement of all WS songs relative to each other is just as I like it 36:02 This song is so good. Entirely deserved. The leitmotifs, the very distinctive segments... All around great. +3 Very valid. I just like Omori, YWW,GB and TVOTFID more for reasons too long to explain. 36:36 This would be 11 or 12 in a 100 track list, which is exactly where I want it 36:42 Yup, sad you didn't say the same at TVOTFID, since that was so charming. 37:01 All good 37:03 I would bump this down a little but I dread to see how high Jawbreaker and GDVG are 38:02 I so love these songs. All are outstanding 38:33 More downbumps. I just don't feel it as much. Maybe down by 6? Just not as connected to other songs as I would like. 39:06 I tend to wnat things I like higher than I want things I hate to be lower. But nothing to change here. +10 I think it represents that the important part here is not apparent, so you can afford to be distracted and indulge in the calm. I think, since BASIL isn't missing yet. 39:32 You know what? I will not bump this down as I said I would. I can live with this even if I don't see it as so great 40:21 This on the other hand gets a big fat -30 from me. Side note: So glad that See You Tomorrow hasn't shown up yet 40:32 No problem here 41:10 So great. I love the info it gives, how it's the Leitmotif source of the game (Like Once Upon A Time), the familiarity for anyone who read the Omoriboy comics, the variations, and also it's appeareance on the keyboard characterizing Omori and foreshadowing the Argument as much as Sunny's face when fighting a Fly 41:31 This song was truly a marvel, better every time it played. Never got tired of it. Since GDVG STILL hasn't come down plummetting, I don't need to bump this. Cheers 42:00 Screw this song. Completely failed at being better than the original. After calculating, I feel this must be bumped down by: *34* spots, give or take the other bumpenings. Still, the fights where it plays are SO COOL. Part of thereason I hate it is that it doesn't live up to the fight. 42:31 I could even bump this up one to three spots but to be honest? This bracket already acnowledges therole it played in getting people to understand the game. So good. 43:02 I cried here, I still sing it. I would make World's End Valentine be here at the highest, and bump this up. This was so heartwarming, even if it wasn't perfect. Especially the version with everyone singing. o7, game. Sad no comment. 43:35 Entirely deserved. I still listen to it. Feels so epic, so anime, so FURIOUS, but not serious in retrospect, but very high stakes the first time you reach this fight. Amazing song and it deserves it's spot 44:02 WEV is down, so I think that's the perfect spot. It was so epic, so tragic, if you understood the lore. Dude was literally AUTO from Wall-E, just trying with every fiber of his being to complete the mission. And when he failed, he tried to finish it in the only other way he could. And when thesame ability that probably let you beat Sweetheart was turned against you... when you used those skills... it was so good. What else is there to say? 44:30 Another one I just wanna bump down because it's less of the song and more the scene but to be honest? I can live with it to respect democracy. +15 Finally spoken 45:01 This one took a while to grow on me but it's masterfully done. Since WEV is stillabove this needs no bumps. I love the pace and instruments. One of the very few videogame songs that earned my dad's respect. 45:46 Bloody good song and whatever, but I just can't allow it to be this high. Not happening 46:30 No complaints. It really is that good, even with it's minimalism. +5 Just like Fallen Down, which has more views than MEGALOVANIA in some platforms, IIRC 47:01 Just for the record: My favourite UT songs are An Ending, ASGORE and UNDERTALE, with BIG SHOT and Tateyuki Shigaraki ~ Joking Motive as my DR and AA picks 47:15 Here's the thing: I fucking LOVE this song. I still sing it today when I am tired as shit and I relate to it as much as I did to I'm A Member of the Midnight Crew back in the day. The reimagining of the lyrics is brilliant. It introduced many to the game and it's the one on the trailer that has no spoilers. But they just BUTCHERED it here! Not only did they erradicate half the song, squandering half the message, but I prefer the 2013 version as well. If your are gonna listen to this, Use the upload from 6 years ago with the picture of Aubrey's shoulders. I really want to bump this down, but it HAS to be here. My comment is so long my phone struggles to write a word every two seconds. (Continued in responses)

Okay, because I'm absolutely goddamn insane, and because I did this on Mediamotif's Undertale and Deltarune ranking videos so fair's fair, and because I love Omori almost equally to Undertale and Deltarune, _and_ because I was planning on commenting on the actual soundtrack videos in a similar manner anyways so I might as well... yeah I'm gonna be commenting on the placement of every one of these. Biggest soundtrack I've ever done it for- wish me luck! xD 179: 'X' Marks The Spot - Yeah fair, it's just a lobby song used for a minigame essentially, and not a very well known minigame compared to the other content in Orange Oasis. It's cute though. 178: Tumbleweeds - This Hector scene is adorable, but I guess the song just isn't well known. Like you said, probably fell through the cracks. 177: Gross... - It's literally just stomach noises used for one room you spent two seconds in in Humphrey's gullet. Yeah no thanks. 176: Distance - Ok what? I figured the Blackspace songs would score low, but not this low! The Yume Nikki feeling of confusion and morbid curiosity this song gives, like you're looking at something so disturbing you can't really process it, deserves respect. 175: Drone - Ok, this one's fair it's literally just a drone. Huh... weird both Omori and Deltarune both have a song that's just a drone. Another connection I tell ya! 174: Clash of Jash - Aww but this one's cute. It isn't that good of a song but that's the point it's like a really old pet console. I guess it makes sense though, though I thought people liked the clash games more... 173: Eternal Dungeon - Wait really? Sure this isn't my favorite song but I really like the depressing but wacky dungeon feeling it gives. Considering how popular Sweetheart's music is I'm honestly surprised one of her songs ranked this low. 172: Fermentation Disorientation - Huh, I honestly really vibe with this song, but I guess it is just another lesser known Orange Oasis area theme. 171: 5ths - Another BlankSpace song I really liked, it's got that sound of everyone warming up before a recital (fitting for its scene when you think about it...). Though I guess most see it as white noise. 170: Save - I honestly don't remember where this song is played, is it Omori route exclusive? 169: Trouble Brewing - Wait seriously? This is one of my favorite short songs from the game, it sounds so innocent yet disturbing and it really makes you feel uncomfortable despite the melody really just descending down a chromatic scale. I thought this song was more popular, damn. 168: Take A Load Off - See this I understand, it's one of the many area themes in Faraway Town that casually comes in. How did this beat Trouble Brewing??? ...Mmm pizza. Maybe that's why. 167: Water - This scene is beautiful, but the song is short and simple and hell I didn't even know what it was from until watching this video so it makes sense. Kinda reminds me of The Choice in Undertale. 166: But I Wanna See It All With You! - There's a lotta songs like this in the OST, but this one I really liked simply because of its out of place connection with Otherworld. Sad. 165: L o o k - Damn that's terrifying, heavily bass boosted and sounding like just screams and roaring. But yeah, only a fraction is used in game so again just another not well known song. 164: A Red Shape - Again, another song that I didn't even know was used for this scene. The song is kinda like Look except it's more subtle at the start and builds up. Omori taking the red hand throne will always be chilling though. 163: Jash Bash 2 - New Age Of Heroes - 100% it only got this far cus of the name. I'm thinking the votes were probably spread throughout these jash bash songs. 162: Jash Bash 3 - Jashpocalypse Infinity - Case in point. 161: Something, Alone - Same, despite this song really just being a drone, the fact it feels like a ghostly chorus is singing it amplifies it so much. But yet again, another cutscene song people don't know about. 160: Origin - Huh, this one was actually one of the more well known cutscene songs I thought, and the wavering, drifting out of reality feeling this song gives made it always stick with me. Sad it didn't get higher. 159: Long Way Down... - Yeah just a slowed down theme, people might've recognized the name but this sequence is pretty short I didn't even know this song was on the soundtrack. Tbh a lot of the low-ranking "songs" in this soundtrack are really just ambience. 158: Nawa - I never knew that's what the name meant, but it fits considering this is one of the Basil Blackspace room... but yeah all of the Blackspace door area themes I just love, this one especially, all are so reminiscent of Yume Nikki and spark that "exploring the terrifying unknown" feeling. 157: Realistic Space Simulation - Pfft the name of this song, never knew it. The Captain Spaceboy x Space Invaders crossover is honestly really fun to play, but I guess the name of the song was unknown. Still, should've placed higher, especially since it's the real world featuring of Captain Spaceboy's main space leitmotif. 156: I Will Catch Up! - Aww this song is cool though, it's a nice lobby theme for Otherworld. Sad it placed this low. I guess there are a lot of these songs though, and this one is kinda slow, but it's pretty. 155: Stationary Rose - Bro what??? This is literally one of the two main themes for Sweetheart's Castle! Why is it so low do people just not realize it switches to a second song? I hope the one for the main middle area ranks high cus this is dumb. 154: I Definitely Promised You A Rose Garden - Again what? I suppose this one would also be lesser known because it's the courtyard theme but seriously the piano version for the man lobby better not be low or imma riot. 153: Bookcase - Ok, I need to calm down. This is a cutscene theme, it's going to be lesser known BUT FOR MARI'S SAKE IT'S ONE OF THE FEW SONGS THAT USES HOME FOR THE FLOWERS AAAAAA 152: Temple - Finally one I can understand the placement of again (but seriously why is it above the last three songs-), it's used just for this tiny cutscene for choosing whether to save Basil and has a pretty generic name. 151: Remina - Ok again another creepy song, this time used for the truth sequence, but personally this is my favorite Blackspace theme. The controlled chaos the piano creates, just barely holding to the Whitespace motif, like everything's falling apart. The steady buildup of the violin, and the way this song suddenly cuts out to that shocking deep piano note as you pick up the first photo. It's such a great way to put you at ease and to describe the emotions both Sunny is feeling, and that you're feeling finding this out with him. I should've known it would've placed this low, but I'm still sad it does. 150: Jash Bash - Another pet rock battle theme, this is probably the most well known of them, so while the votes were pretty spread out for them all, it's fitting that this one would get a bit higher than the rest. (Continued below, this is gonna take a _lot_ of replies)

149: Undertow - Another song I haven't heard yet due to it being exclusive to the Omori route, so I can't have much of an opinion. The Abyss though... and ABBI...? Excited to see what those are. 148: Listening - Really creepy replacement for the menu theme, love how the menu begins to change once you reach Blackspace. But again, another droning song that people probably didn't even know the name of. 147: An Archaeic Resonance - Just the Dino Dig song, it's neat, not much else to say, placement makes sense for one of the lesser known areas in Orange Oasis. Also “Archaeic” is spelt wrong and this will forever annoy me. 146: White Pillars - Either this is a Blackspace theme I'm forgetting, or an Omori route song. Either way, it sounds pretty neat, gives a sort of slowed chime feeling, but I don't recognize it. 145: Your Catastrophes - Is the Sunny route Basil fight theme really this... empty? I remember the moment being so much more intense but I guess the song just drops out again, really just ambience. I suppose that's why not many really knew the name despite this scene being such a pivotal moment- no one bothered to find it cus there wasn't much to listen to. Still, guess it scored a few points to get here. 144: Just Leave Me Alone - Huh, considering Aubrey's first battle is pretty memed give Sunny's whole accidental stabbing, I thought this would've ranked higher. Though I guess It Means Everything is the much more popular of the two, this one has an insane grunge that deserves respect as well. 143: W o o f - What even...? Yeah I have no idea what this song is, I'm guessing it only ranked this high cus of the name. Weird. 142: Cold! - I've heard about this song, though I haven't seen it in its full context it seems like it plays in the room right before Captain Space-Ex-Husband's battle? (Edit: Yes it does but is also used for the Angel Room, creepy). It also uses the same melody as Trees... though much deeper and emptier. Either way, neat song, I'd say this is a fine placement. 141: Respite - Oh cool, didn't realize Omori had a song called Respite as well. Really fitting for the church, considering the warning around it that with that creepy guy saying someone's going to die and that the spirits are howling, the pastor having a bad feeling. It's a nice way to foreshadow the Basil fight. Also never realized its connection to Yume Nikki, good ear! 140: H e l p M e - Poor Basil. :( I really "like" this song, it's honestly terrifying with its broken melody and whatever warped instrument is being used there, it deserves much higher. It's so good at what it does. 139: C a l m - Same! Out of all the Blackspace songs this one and Waiting For... feel the most like Yume Nikki songs to me. It's got that droning tone but also wavering, obtuse chords that fill your head and make everything feel just a bit off, but curious at the same time. 138: W a i t i n g F o r... - Speak of the devil! Never realized its connection to Earthbound, this one just felt like a YUme Nikki area to me too, that one area where everything's black and white and there's like scribble beings and distorted bodies, that one. Also it fits really well with that breathy tone for the broken down characters, versions of Sunny's friends. 137: Something - Song probably only got here cus of its name, though I say it should be higher still. Those high pitched, breathy synths sound like slow screams and it all mixes together to perfectly encapsulate Sunny's mind as he faces down his biggest fear. 136: High Fructose Headache - Even if it's only used for one room, the candy shop theme is cute and its two workers have a lot of personality, it's an area that sticks with me. The song is just a cute rendition of the mall theme, but I still would like it to be higher. 135: Cram It Wad - Aw, I really liked the theme for the Hooligans, definitely does not deserve this placement this song is great at being a dumb song trying to be badass, perfect for these kids. And damn, am I already a quarter of the way there? Wow, thought this would take longer. 134: F a d e - Oh huh, I've only ever known this song for being used during the Hush Puppy battle in Orange Oasis, is it used for the Snow Angels too? Either way, just another droning tone... probably could've been lower. 133: That One Song But It's Some Mermaids - Pft, the name of this song doesn't lie. That one song appears so many times it makes sense that this one, the least known, would be so low. Still a cute song though, guess this is fine. 1...30? You mean 132?: Stardust Diving - Bro what, this chase scene in Otherworld after Rosa is great and the song's a bop! Really it's just a fast version of the Junkyard theme but still, sad it placed this low. 131: The Heart Of The Desert - Wait really? This is like, the main theme for Orange Oasis! I really love desert themes too, this song does not deserve this placement smh c'mon guys. 130 (the actual one lol): N o r m a l - Ok great name, but this song is literally just Fade but with the drone oscillating. So many drone songs in this OST wow. 129: *Bloom* - Oh and this one very much so makes me think of Yume Nikki as well, these Blackspace songs are so good. This one feels much more wild, with the screechy sorta synths and that pipe percussion. Ok placement overall. 128: Gone - Huh, I think the name again is the reason this one placed so low. Again makes me think of The Choice, perfect for the scene it plays in. 127: Whale Whale Whale - Definitely did not expect this one to be so low. The name is definitely recognizable and it's not that bad a battle theme, even if intended to be creepy as well it still has a beat. Weird. 126: *Welcome Again.* - Ok you guys have no right to do Blackspace like that. Those distorted clanks playing this new version of White Space are absolutely perfect, and honestly kinda satisfying for me to listen to. Great song, creepy as hell with how sinister it feels, deserves so much higher. 125: A Place By A Lake - Damn do people just really not like these creepy or atmospheric songs? I know I was dissing the OST for having so many songs that are just drones, but songs like these are legitimately cool, _especially_ this song! Those ocean waves and the echoing piano are beautiful in their fragileness. Shame on you guys.

124: Such A Time We Had Together - I always loved the name of this song, it's got the same feeling as, "That certainly was a thing that happened." So passive-aggressively neutral. As for the actual song, just another chill bop, again with Otherworld motifs, not much to say. 123: *Aquifer* - While the other song deeper into this area is much better at being creepy, Aquifer does a great job setting the atmosphere. Plus the way this area just straight up copies and builds upon the rooftop area in Yume Nikki is so cool. Again, another song I'm disappointed is so low, but I'm thinking that there's just so many good songs in this soundtrack that we're already starting to get conflicts of interest... 122: Bad Morning - I'm embarrassed at how long it took me to realize this song was a creepy version of Good Morning. It does its job amazingly, I love songs like these that take a happy melody and corrupt them, and given that this is Redspace, the area that you have to go through to see the light, but also the most violent recess of Sunny's mind... very cool song. 121: How... Tragic! - This song's name always made me think of Oh! My Love from Undertale, but the actual song has the same feeling as Confession, if a bit cheesier. The cheesiness of this song is done really well and I like it, but not much. I'm fine with it being here. 120: Recycling Is A Concept! - Again with the passive-aggressive neutral names, love it (and I think you did the same thing with that text added in? xD). Though you should all recycle. Do it. As for the song, it's a jam, really fun to just bounce too. It's not amazing in my book but should've scored higher. 119: Swallow Hollow - Weird that this scored higher than Whale Whale Whale, considering it's the same song but with an echoing and muting effect added onto it. Either way, this scene is still the most terrifying for me in the game ever so let's move on. 118: Fresh...ish... - Pfft love the name of this song too, perfect way to describe the feeling of a kid seeing a supermarket and trying to make the most of it. It's a pretty chill song, but I'm not terribly attached to it. 117: Oh My God. - Wait what? I saw this song in the list and I assumed it was gonna be some creepy song maybe in the Truth Sequence, but nope it's just EMS's theme- why is her theme name so menacing!? Also, she does appear later in one of the sandwich club places. 116: It's Okay To Try Again... - The sad piano version of White Space combined with the gentle encouragement from the name make such a cute game over theme, I really like it. It just sticks with me. 115: Chemistry On And On - Heck yeah we gettin science up in here. The theme never stuck out to me, but I enjoy it. It makes me think of some of the M&L Bowser's Inside story music with its choice of instrumentation. 114: *The Violin* - Yeah this song just gets it right with the ambience. It's got that Everything at the End of Time feeling, with a bit of vhs warping added to it. Really well done for this scene of finally bypassing Sunny's trauma blockade and remembering the violin in person. 113: So, How'd We Do? - It's a cute song that plays after battles, not much else to say. Though I will mention that it is a bit nostalgic now. 112: Sweetheart's Quest For Hearts - I've listened to this song way too much while gambling in Last Resort, but besides that, it's a really jazzy song that's perfect for the show. Wish it scored a bit higher. 111: *Fleur* - Ooo we're getting to the more popular Blackspace songs! This one also makes me think of the black and white desert area in Yume Nikki, especially since this room is probably the most disturbing in terms of body horror. 110: Come And See - Huh, guess just like Undertale a few songs have real instruments in this OST too, who would've guessed? xD But yeah the acoustic guitar works perfectly here, it's the perfect amount of empty and lonely, yet familiar, to leave you wary but calm on this raft ride, and sells Basil just suddenly not having his head very well. 109: Remembrance - This song just hits hard. It's only a violin playing a short bit of the duet, but seeing Sunny break down on that stage as he finally starts to process everything fully, it hurts. On its own, don't care much for the song, but with that scene, it at least earns this spot. 108: The Elegance Of The Mysterious And Distant - That song title actually describes the feeling it gives off pretty well, just that smooth feeling of watching something cool that you don't fully understand, flying through (head)space! I agree this song should've been a bit higher. 107: I Think My Dad Shops Here... - It's funny cus it's true. Just another Faraway Town shop theme, next. 106: Underwater Highway - This theme just feels like I can sink into it and vibe, one of the coolest underwater themes I've ever heard in a game, it deserves better. Also, interesting observation and that's definitely intentional. All the Faraway Town themes are generally more muted and less dramatic as well, fitting a "normal" setting more, save for the Aubrey battle themes, but even those use an electric guitar instead of synths. 105: *Glade* - Oof, this song. Makes me think of an old piano player in a ghost town, it just sounds so broken, struggling to go on. It's perfect for this area too where you literally find Something, and are faced with the confusion at how she tells Sunny she loves him. 104: *Orchard* - Oh neat, yeah that is the same sample, just slowed a bit I think. This scene is short but does its job well, I saw the song fits nicely here. 103: A Rose By Any Other Name... - You guys did _not_ just do Sweetheart's overworld theme like that, no way. This song is pretentious and stuck up as all heck and it's so perfect for her character (and Rosa), it gets me ready for more ridiculousness just like with Queen's Theme in Deltarune! Huh... another similarity. Hey wait and both Sweetheart and Queen have songs that feature their laugh in the song wtf- 102: Thalassophobia - This is probably my least favorite of the phobia themes, and the votes seem to agree. It just sacrifices a lot of the slowed down eeriness the other two themes have in favor of just more white noise. 101: Grimey - AGREED! Grimey isn't my favorite battle theme, probably not even in my top 10, but it's a really creepy theme for the lab with that menacing electric-whisper percussion and the dissonant synths, all while keeping a beat. 100: How... Sad! - Lmao it's okay Lavos. This song sounds a bit more genuine compared to How Tragic, but it's still got that cheesiness to it. It's like the Oh My Love to Tragic's Oh Dungeon if you get my drift darling. Still, okay song, funny coincidence on the placement though. And wouldja look at that! Finally in the top... 100... _oh god I'm not even halfway there._

99: Recycling Really Is A Concept - Love how this ever so slightly more intense of Recycling in a Concept! just makes the name slightly more intensively neutral, lmao. This area is amazing, and the percussion really turns the song into an even bigger bop, I like it here. Also wait there's morse code? What does it translate to? 98: *Friends.* - Turning Lost At A Sleepover into this glitchy mess fits perfectly for seeing Sunny's friends, corrupted by his darkest thoughts, just absolutely whale on Basil without a care in the world. It sounds so innocent then immediately throws you for a loop. As a song though, it's pretty ear-destroying, so yeah uh, have fun here. 97: *Friendssssss.* - At first I wondered what the chances of these two songs getting ranked back to back were, but then I realized people probably thought this song was the previous one so the votes got split pretty evenly. The room this is used in is cool, corrupting your friends even more just down to the base, but the actual song is just noise, should've been so much lower. Also not sure exactly what that comment about MediaMotifs is referring to lol. 96: It's A Ghost Dance. - Aww but this song is great, the dance cutscene is so cool and it feels like you could waltz right along to it! Again, not one of my favorites, but it should be much higher. 95: I Prefer My Pizza 90% Grease - The name of this song makes me nauseous just reading it eugh. Anyways, this song will forever be burned into my brain after that delivery sidequest so no thank you next. 94: Wandering Rose - Well uh... it _did_ score higher than the other Sweetheart's Castle themes, just still not that great a spot. C'mon guys it's got sass and drama. What more could you want out of an area theme? 93: Good For Health, Bad For Imagination - Cute song name, love how it's implying that while this aid place is very useful for healing items in Faraway Town, none of it is really referenced in Headspace. As for the song, another cute area theme, personally my favorite Faraway Town area theme though. Also never realized the Earthbound reference, neat! 92: The Truth - It's just a simple snippet of the Final Duet on a piano with some echo, but goddamn it works so well in this scene. I suppose it's okay here. 91: Thrifted Tchotchkes - Not quite sure what the name means, but it's a chill song. Actually really all the Kel and Hero songs in Faraway Town are pretty chill lol. 90: Valour Against All Odds - Hahaha these names man! Against all odds cus Sir Maximus, all three of them, are certainly doomed trying to fight us. As for the song, IT WAS ROBBED WTH GUYS. This is the worst placement on this list by far so far, it deserves so much higher! It's got an awesome beat and cheesy dramatic flair perfect for these battles, it even reappears with Snaley! Smh. 89: Room For 4 - I've had this song stuck in my head cus I just finished going through Last Resort last week (as of writing this part I have been writing for like two weeks now), and honestly it's just really chill. Like, chiller than the other chill songs in this OST. I like it, put it a bit higher pls. 88: *Persevere* - Bro there's even a song for when Sunny gets up in the good ending wth. Another "The Choice" sounding song with those slowed down piano chords. It's cool, but not the most memorable, honestly should be lower. 87: Clams Clams Clams - Yeah this song is great, such a cool but chill mafia boss theme, and one of the greatest uses of build up to those Megaman smash accentuated notes that I just realized I don't actually know the term for wth how have I gone this long without knowing it Toby uses it all the time _anyways-_ Really cool song, honestly deserves a bit higher, but I guess it's the Spamton to Jawsum's NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A, another overworld theme overshadowed by the boss theme. 86: Squall - Bro this song was robbed too! I guess it does have a somewhat generic name given people probably didn't realize the pun on storms and a fight, but still it's one of the many great area battle themes and this one is one of my favorites with those bendy synths! Goddamn we're getting to the controversial ones aren't we? Oh wait wow, I'm past halfway that makes sense. Huh. Didn't think I'd get this far. 85: *Your Catastrophes - Procession* - Oooh now this is why I remember the fight music against Basil being so intense, it was cus of this song once Sunny gets stressed out! Love this scene, the whole cutscene of Sunny losing it, his red eyes, the screen getting less and less saturated until Basil suddenly stabs Sunny in the eye, so creepy and perfect way for the church bells to build up to that climax. After all, _the spirits are howling._ Still a short, creepy cutscene song and therefore not the greatest, but I think this a good placement for how well it's done. 84: Bargain Bin Boys - Eh, the Hobbeez theme never really stuck with me, but I can see why people like it, I guess it's fine here. 83: Fin - I mean this bonus cutscene if you water Basil's plants is cute, but it's literally just hospital ambience it should be all the way at the bottom. 82: *56-12-2* - Anyone know what those numbers mean? Anyways, this room is probably the one that disturbed me the most throughout Blackspace. That wondering if you should kill someone you love, in this case Mewo. It's a really dark thought but it's one that, if you indulge in those dark thoughts from time to time, will show up, and it's terrifying. This room reminded me exactly of that, especially since you don't even have to kill Mewo to get out. As for the music, the melody steadily rising up a creepy arpeggio just sells that intensity for me. 81: Wake Up - Seeing Sunny wake up and immediately tear up after everything he just went through is yet another hard hitting moment for me- wow there are a lot of those in this game. It is just more The Choice ambience so it should be lower, but a great scene truly. 80: I Just Freaking Love The 50s!!! - Holy sh*t you're a Kirby Super Star fan too!? Yoooo. And yeah that's what I'm saying!!! This motif emulates that style so well, especially in this song, and really fitting for Captain Spaceboy tbh haha. 79: Forest Chillin' - I mean, it's a chill theme, not at all memorable to me, honestly should be lower. 78: *Photograph* - Yeah, the use of Neighbor's Room in this nostalgic way really helps ease you into the creepiness of the game, after all this song and cutscene plays a lot earlier on than most of the creepy songs. One of the few cutscene songs I find memorable. 77: Finding Shapes in the Clouds - Aww this song name is adorable. The main theme for going around Faraway Town, I'd expect it to be higher, but it's good here. It's a nice theme, but it's not much more than that. I do like the accordion-like parts that come in though. 76: H2O: HCL - Godammit with these clever names, took chemistry and I can confirm that too that's awesome. Though to be fair, HCL should be written with a lowercase L. Anyways great name, pretty creepy yet calm song that while I do find memorable, should honestly be a bit lower. 75: *Arachnophobia* - Well finally another phobia theme! Dang Thalassophobia got the short end of the stick. By itself again these themes are cool but not that great, but the fact that speeding them up makes such cool tracks is a big point for them. I'm glad the original phobia theme is going to come out on top though, the grain distortion in this song puts it down a notch for me.

74: White Surf Style 6 - I feel like the name is an obscure surfing game reference that I don't get. Anyways, it's a cool battle theme, I'm surprised this one ranked so low considering all the battle themes are pretty loved. Are we really getting that high up? Wow... But yeah, it's a pretty cool battle theme but I can't say I prefer it over the others. (Also, you're not gonna believe me but I was playing Deltarune with the game muted for some footage while listening to this, and I swear the moment the clap comes in the song, by complete accident I made the two giant hands in the acid river hi-five lmao) 73: Swirly 1000x - Pfft I swear these names they don't stop coming! Anyways, this was one of my more favorable battle themes, it's really energetic. Sad it ranked this low it deserves better. 72: Snow Forest ~ A Single Flowey Blooms - Yeah I guess so, another more chill area theme, no pun intended, and though I do like the snowy style it's not that memorable to me. Guess it was enough to some people to make it here though! 71: See In Your Fantasy - Bro what this song is a bop, I'm surprised it didn't score higher. It manages to be a calm area theme but it hits just right, it's got this nice quirkiness to it that's perfect for the sprout moles. I'm guessing people just didn't know the name. ...Also wait this samples the Scatman? xD 70: Lost, Then Found! - Aw. I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed a lot for these next few dozen. I've gotta remember they've already made it pretty far given the sheer number of songs in this game. I really like the Otherworld songs and this was probably my favorite area theme throughout the whole game, damn. Sorry buddy. 69: Space Road 1979 - So close to 1997. Wait, isn't 1979 the year Skylab fell? And considering you're climbing a ladder to space... damn guess Sunny's still a bit scared lol. Really good lo-fi vibe it's got going, definitely some of the best ambient music the game has to offer... but still ambient music. Oh and nice. 68: Numbers - Huh, so that's where the audio that freaked out Merg and every german-speaking player so much, an equally creepy source. But yeah this song, while still mostly ambient, hits different for me. The echoing, simple melody feels so off, and yet it pulls you deeper. Added with the counting, it feels like you're wading through the steady, primal recesses of your mind. Chilling. 67: Try Again... Little Brother - Ah, I see why the actual game over theme was left so low, everyone voted for this one! The subtle change of making it just an echoing piano with the Whitespace melody is perfect for the important decision you have to make, to determine Sunny's ending. 66: Let's Get Together Now - Oh wow, this iconic song didn't even make the top 50, we're really getting into the boxing ring now! One of the most nostalgic songs in the game, perfect for the Headspace park. It's so light-hearted and goofy, definitely should've made it higher. 65: Trouble - NEVER/ALWAYS - Yeah I don't get this name, but for a prefight theme this song is such a bop. Perfect for Captain Spaceboy's anger, really makes him seem threatening despite having been laying in bed this whole time and being the first end-area boss! 64: *Acrophobia* - Aw yeah the og, the original phobia theme where this game really showed me how good it was going to get. Sad it's not higher, but I didn't expect it to be, so I'm glad it made it this far. The pitch bending melody works so well. And again, the fact you can speed it up to reveal a bop is amazing. 63: Playing Forever - Just saw Merg's video on Omori route's Blackspace so I guess I got here at the perfect time. Yeah this scene is somehow so calming and yet disturbing at the same time. Looking at it just within the route, you think you finally got Basil back and can live happily at the end of your adventure. But, with the knowledge from the Sunny route... it becomes clear this scene is Omori finally shutting out Sunny's guilt again, and how you're just letting this cycle in Headspace repeat. Also, the use of the Duet motif is genius, as you're essentially saying goodbye to any chance at remembering Mari. Such a cool song, I think it's fine here for what it manages to accomplish. Makes me think of The Circus from Deltarune too. 62: The Last Resort - Last Resort really has some bangers doesn't it? It's honestly an underrated area. Surprised this song made it this high, guessing we're going to be seeing most of the favorite area themes soon. Good placement, really love the floaty underwater feeling this song gives, similar to Terraria's Ocean theme. 61: Puddles - Love how this one tiny room most won't go to and has no relation to the story has its own theme, that's just adorable. (Though this song is also used in Memory Lane, during the rain flashback, it’s still not all that needed.) Either way, cute song, again a good water themed song, also makes me think of Terraria's Rainy Day theme. I'm fine with it here. Also LAVOS NO YOU FLOODED THEM WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!? 60: Lovesick - 80,000 Lightyears - You described it perfectly, the nostalgia the space songs give mix beautifully with Omori's style and that spacey feeling of drifting off into the cosmos. Honestly this one should be higher but I won't complain. 59: Crossroads - God what can I say? It's a nostalgic, deep note piano piece of the evening theme, that fits so well for this memory where you can finally get a happy moment with Basil in your head. It's not terribly impressive musically, but it hits hard. 58: Sweet Paralysis - Well if that name isn't terrifying I don't know what is. Honestly one of my favorite boss themes and should be much higher, the Sprout Mole Eater is such a creepy boss despite not really being related to Blackspace at all, and the amount of dissonance this song has while still being an absolute jam is something you really don't get again till Humphrey! 57: Flouring With You - I never actually noticed, mostly because I passed off this flamenco style as just the style they went for with the Orange Oasis food battles, and the Life Jam Guy was supposed to be a tease at that before this song was used then, but I can definitely hear the resemblance. I think the synths and trumpet added onto the classic piano and violin are really what sells it. Anyways, this song is a goddamn bop how is it not higher?? Maybe some Orange Oasis songs stole the votes. 56: *Sinking* - Yeah this song is really good, but I wasn't expecting it to rank much higher than Numbers. Still, the Deeper Well songs need more appreciation! The slightly distorted synths, like you're pushing deeper into the water so that the pressure is coming down feels so cool. 55: Push & Shove - Guess I'm not surprised this song made it this high, it's pretty well loved, just not my favorite. It's got a nice beat, but it's clear it's just the default boss/battle theme for when there is none, and it reflects that in how simple it is. It just feels like nothing special, should be lower imo. 54: Splintered Sweets in the Castle - Oh wow I never realized Bo En composed anything for the OST besides My Time, interesting! But that's against testament to how freakin underrated the Sweetheart's Castle songs are what???? This battle theme's so cool why's it so low- AND WHY IS IT HIGHER THAN THE MAXIMUS THEME??? 53: Pyrefly Forest ~ Cat's Cradle - This is one of the most calming songs in the soundtrack for me, it feels like you're just laying in the middle of a forest, watching the creatures of it drift to sleep around you while the birds coo their last songs. I think it's fine here. 52: Treehouse - Here We Are, Together Again - Man this memory was one of the cutest, seeing everyone's thoughts on their cards, and knowing the context behind the cards Basil has based on the photo descriptions. The actual song though is pretty basic, just an 8-bit and slightly slowed version of Lost At a Sleepover... honestly why is this so high up? Hope Lost At a Sleepover didn't lose votes over this. 51: 100 Sunny - Hah. Get it? Cus Sunny? Anyways, memory's cute, standard beach theme, should probably be lower. Are these memory songs that I didn't really pay much attention to the reason so many better songs placed lower??? 50: Where We Used To Play - Ouch that song name doesn't even dance around it goes right for the liver. It's a pretty calm song, nothing much to it. I do like how it uses the same melody as the Headspace Playground theme, showing how that's what Sunny was inspired by to make the Headspace Playground. Honestly, should be lower. Hey I've actually been saying that a few times now... could it be? Ooooh baby we're in the top 50!

49: PRANKED. - Ok this song name is simply perfect, and the song is too. It's got that "Ok class it's time to get to work!" vibe and settles you right in to deal with a minigame, beautiful. I'd say this is a nice spot for it. 48: Those Who Forget History - God Omori's battle themes go hard, even this one which I believe is just for Dino Dig? I'm surprised it scored this low too! Really great battle theme, deserves higher. Also the name is definitely a reference to Sunny's self-induced amnesia, which is somewhat fitting given all of Orange Oasis is optional content that distracts you from the Sunny route. 47: WHITE SPACE (v2) - I mean, it's a nice piano version of the original, and fits very well for the Sunny route with him slowly connecting back with his memories. Even so, should probably be lower. I can understand WHITE SPACE getting a lot of attention because of its importance, but its variation just doesn't belong this high. 46: Hanging With The Boys - This song name is surprisingly self aware. Anyways, chill theme, but so many Last Resort songs beat this one. I know _why_ it got so high up, it's a meme and everyone loves this scene, but still. 45: THE VENGEANCE OF THOSE FORGOTTEN IN DARKNESS - Ok Pluto teach me your flex skill BECAUSE SOMEONE'S ABOUT TO GET RUN 'N GUNNED. Worst placement so far this song deserves at least top twenty aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. It goes hard, it's freakin' PLUTO'S theme, what the heck!? Ugh I can't believe Pluto got done like that. Also great name, basically a war cry for people who want Pluto to still be a planet. Also, we’re a little over halfway through the video, with around a quarter of the songs left, and I’m realizing songs are taking a bit longer to play, which is a relief I’m actually starting to get some downtime instead of just stopping every 5 songs. 44: Poems In The Fog - It's a really tranquil song, but it's still another peaceful one-room song that really doesn't stand out imo, don't really know why it scored this high. Maybe cus it's just early in the game? Either way should be lower. 43: Dear Little Brother... - As you already know Lavos, this is one of my favorite songs in the game. It turns By Your Side into this haunting yet nostalgic theme, similar to slowed down Fallen Down, in the most beautiful way to lure you in for the final phobia fight. Wonderful song, but I must admit it is at its core just a remix of By Your Side, so I think it deserves its place right here. 42: You Must Carry On. - This song is great, but I can't help but hear the old 64-bit violins and chorus, ones that, while Toby has used, tend to break any immersion or seriousness I feel around a song, so I can't really be moved by it. Don't get me wrong the scene is great, and I'm guessing the instrument choice might have something to do with nostalgia, as this is where Sunny truly lets go of his Headspace friends and accepts his real, modern friends, but still, not for me, and even then it's another The Choice song just with some really good chords, probably should be lower. 41: August/Water - Huh, out of all the Blackspace songs, I wonder why this one placed so high? I guess its prominent use may be the reason, or people just really liked the feeling it gave. I don't feel much for this song in particular, so I'll just move on. 40: Stardust Diving - This song is such a cool area theme, like you said really the first one to get me into the game. The whole trash dump area is when this game's prominence as a solid RPG really began to shine, I just loved roaming around the trash boxes in this spacey area facing down 90s technology. Wish this got a bit higher but I'm glad it made it here. 39: Clean Slate - Never heard of FTL, but this song strikes a certain chord within me. The light bending of the synths, the echoing chords, it really helps you feel like a weight has been lifted off of you. Also I believe this is a remix of the pharmacy theme? That gets it bonus points. I guess it's fine here? It's kinda hard to tell when I'm still in the high 30s, but this does feel like it's getting to the top picks considering I'm in the final quarter, so maybe a bit lower for this song, but I digress. 38: YO DJ PUMP THIS PARTY - This song has no right to go this hard given how much of a meme it is. Fine I won't be a scrooge, it's earned this spot. xD 37: Sugar Star Planetarium - I'm glad the Otherworld area themes are getting good placements, even if I'm still salty about Sweetheart's Castle getting no love. It's a really pretty song, I think I prefer Stardust Diving, but the way this song acts like a normal peaceful area theme, before suddenly being reused for the Stranger sequence in this area is phenomenal, nice placement. 36: Not-So-Empty-House - I love the vaguely steampunk style this song has, it's oddly fitting for this monocle ghost and his old fashioned party. I'm fine with this placement I suppose, it's pretty unique. 35: Three Bar Logos - Favorite battle theme by far, and I know many agree. The percussion and bass synths back everything perfectly and the melody is on point, especially the main starting motif with that fade, it all comes together so nicely to create this happy battle theme that you just have to dance along to, and it just feels so nostalgic when I think about similar themes in those old Phineas and Ferb DS games. Honestly it deserves higher. I'm glad it made it here but this song is exceptional. 34: Remember to be Patient - I love this song because of how subtly unsettling it is, like this song terrifies me knowing the implications behind it. On the surface it sounds so peaceful, just a genuinely good snow area theme, but god those echoed piano chords, the subtle chime playing with it, the slightly warped chorus in the background. This is a fake peace, this song truly represents Omori pushing Blackspace down, repressing Sunny's memories, and replacing it with a nice and quiet world, an illusion. And that name definitely has a sinister meaning, I just haven't figured it out yet. Chills, man, and not just because of the snow. 33: A Home For Flowers (Empty) - Holy crap it's been exactly 150 songs since we've come across another A Home For Flowers theme, wow! Granted, the one I was sad about didn't actually have it in the name, so I'm glad that people do actually appreciate this song, and apparently all its variations too! Excited to see the rest come up and where the top one stands. As for this one in particular, I can see why it's the least voted, it's supposed to be a bit empty and morose, but still a good song. 32: Gator Gambol - While this isn't my favorite battle theme, I still heavily prefer Three Bar Logos as you probably just read, I can see why Gator Gambol is a fan-favorite too. It manages to turn such a cool, smooth jazz feeling into a battle theme! We're fighting in style here! 31: *OMORI - ALTER* - God this song, there are so many layers to it. Obviously, OMORI as its own song exists and will be further down the line, so here I'll only go over what the ALTER version adds on. First of all, the name is genius. This is an altered version of the song OMORI - but, it's also pointing out how Omori is a literal, mental alter of Sunny. It's such a subtle meta detail but it works so well. As for the distortion, yes I hop on the fan theory that this is literally the argument. In fact I'm pretty sure the shouting is supposed to be when Mari falls down the stairs. Combine this with the tonal shifts of Omori looking scarier and scarier, the music and battle area generally getting distorted, as well as those silhouettes in the background that oddly resemble your friends hanging... Yeah, I'm pretty sure this all combines into Omori trying to scare Sunny back into repressing his memories. In the most raw form possible, he's showing what happened before Sunny hid himself away, and trying to make him fear what could happen if he comes out again. You killed your sister, what makes you think you won't end up killing your other friends? Omori, and in turn the game holds nothing back, you're facing true self-hatred.

My TOP 10: 10.Jawbreaker Such a unique, catchy jazz theme for one of the most unique boss fight. Even my mom liked it. 😆 9.A Home For Flowers (all vers.) These are such a cute and fantastic tunes to listen, when you want calm down. Each of them gives little different feeling, but I like all of them. 8.BREADY STEADY GO Very atypical theme for boss fight but very accurate in game. It's catchy, hot and it slaps. Also very good name 😆😆 7.Underwater Prom Queens This is song for a very INTERESTING battle and once again - the song is fuckin awesone. Its one of these chaos songs like Chaos Assembly, Grimey, ... but this one is made best. 6.You Were Wrong. Go Back Idk what to say about this one. Its just like supercatchy, specifically when it builds up. 5.By Your Side This is the theme, which gave me different feelings depends on where I was in game. At the beggining, it's just really cute happy theme, but for every time you hear it again it's more and more sadder ☹️ 4.My Time What an excellent way to end a game. I think this is the only song from OMORI, that would be popular even without the game. Oyasumi, Oooyaaasumii.... 3.DUET This is the "IT" of this game. I dont really like emotional songs that much, but this hits just different. This was the first time, I was actually nearly to cry in any game. Even when you play it by Kazoo, its still like super emotional... 2.OMORI (+ OMORI ALTER) This is my favorite moment in entire game and my favorite bossfight of all time. The way how this song builded up and is getting more and mote dramatic is just phenomenal. Still gives me goosebumps... 1.World's End Valentine I said I was more on bangers than emotional songs 🙃. MEGALOVANIA of this game obviously...
@LavosTheOneEyedTick2 жыл бұрын
Hmm... Let me think of my Top 10. I think we have some pretty different picks considering I don't get attached to songs which are just banger tunes as much as I do ones that make me feel something a bit deeper, but there is certainly place for both in my top 10. Though it is certainly tough given there's only like 4-5 songs in the soundtrack that don't really work for me. 10: Duet It's Duet, what can I say? It's basically a classically composed song and it sounds pretty great because of it. 9: Grimey I quite like how dark this sounds in comparison to most of the other battle themes, which are all good but I prefer the... well, grimey feel of this one. It reminds me of a more refined version and less Earthbound reliant version of the Amalgamate theme from Undertale. 8: Undertow Something about this one... menacing and disturbing yet thoughtful and contemplative. An interesting dynamic they went for here and one which I think came out sounding pretty unique out of a video game soundtrack. I guess there's a couple similar songs to this, like "Aquifer", but this gets the instrument dynamic down best out of those. Though Numbers does use the Numbers Station samples which is very cool. 7: Space Boyfriend's Mixtape It's cute, it samples Super Nintendo games, it's just an uplifting tune to vibe to despite how short it is! 6: By Your Side. I always say this song sounds like how pumpkin tastes and I stand by it. Works perfectly as a cheery nature picnic theme and a bittersweet reminder of a life lost at the same time. It's incredible how well that stuff works, and I honestly really prefer this version to the piano one, "Dear Little Brother", that they use later in the game. 5: Lost Library I can actually play this one on piano! I enjoy how despite this song's rather simplistic nature, only using two instruments and all that, it still rings true and helps hit the hollow feeling that has welled up deep within Sunny's subconscious. 4: Gator Gambol My favorite battle theme. I love how jazzy it is, plus like Grimey it strikes a very different mood compared to the other battle themes, which while also slappers also only fit one specific cheery tone. I always am a sucker for the smooth tunes video games like to throw in, like Hip Shop from Deltarune, so this is a great one for me. 3: Remember to be Patient This one has that piano used in a lot of OMORI tracks but I feel like this is the only song using it that hits deeper on an emotional level. It's cold, echoey and full of melancholy, but also bittersweet, like happiness is still close by. Quite fitting for the circumstances of the game, I suppose. 2: You Cannot Go Back I really love how emotional this is, especially in comparison to most of the other boss themes in the game which only cover a specific few intense/upbeat feelings. This one you can really hear the hurt with every echoing note. 1: August/Water I never quite understood those comments on songs like "this gives me emotions I can't describe" until I heard this one. Both full of hurt and meditative at the same time. The area that this plays in was easily the most unique of Black Space and everything about it stuck with me quite strongly.
