I can’t imagine mace having any other lightsaber besides purple. It’s honestly awesome that Samuel L Jackson said he wanted to stand out because if he didn’t, he probably would’ve never had the purple lightsaber which showed his balance between light and the dark, (purple being a mix between a blue and red lightsaber)

Purple is a mix of red and blue. Windu has had intense moments of battling off the draw to the dark-side (red) and is an incredible warrior-class Jedi (blue). I thought that’s how canon explained it.

Mace was a unique Jedi who was able to incorporate the dark side into his battle technique without falling. He should have his own lightsaber color. He was one of the most powerful Jedi ever.
