@@Samsungorliterally just having the pokemon evolve normally mostly fixes the issue. GX and current ex dont have the big basic issue in nearly the same degree BW era EX had. Though the worst iteration were 1000% the Tag Team GX. 3 prize pokemon overall were a colossal mistake that the game is still struggling to recover from, bloated hp numbers and all.

That feels like an effect that would be on a Seismitoad that required you to evolve Tympole and Palpitoad first. Why on Earth did they think putting that on a basic mon was a good idea?

@@gligarguy4010 …Ash never really did…well, much of anything. His Pokemon did all the work, and inevitably suffered for his laziness and ineptitude. I tell the kids I teach (25 6-14’s), “you will STINK at Pokemon if you treat it like Ash does!” They mostly listen, because they all want to steal his Pikachu, too.

Seismitoad was actually rather common in Smogon 6v6 Singles' OU format back in Sword and Shield, if memory serves correct.

I remember being excited to get back into playing the TCG for the first time since the initial craze back in the late 90s. Then I remember encountering Seismitoad or Trevenant decks who prevented you from even playing the damn TCG and made me quit again. 😭

i loved playing toad but my deck was built to be agressive. i used archie to get out empoleon from breakthrough(+20 damage for basic pokemon) and would usually have 2-3 on my bench from repeated archies. quaking punch for 90 was so fun to do.

To be fair, I had created a deck that actually can knock out seimitoad EX in one hit which is done in combination with poison and certain pokemon tool card.

@BurtsPTCG i use a florges EX deck that contain a silver bangle, a pokemon tool from one of the black and white set, Volbeat with the move pester from xy primal crisis and a Ariados from xy ancient origin. The setup: make sure that the a fairy pokemon with a retreat cost of one is set at the active on the first turn with a fairy energy attach, volbeat on the bench with the silver bangle attach along with spinarak. On the next ture after your active pokemon was quicken punched and you cannot be able to use items and if the pokemon tool is not removed, evolve spinarak into ariados, retreat the fairy pokemon for the volbeat with the silver banger attached and attach the double colorless engery into it, use ariados' poisonous nest ability to poison both active pokemon that are not grass(volbeat is grass so it is immune) and then attack the poisoned seimitoad-EX for 180 due to weakness to grass. Rundown: Normally pester does 30 damage, it does 30 more if the opponent's active pokemon is affected by special condition, silver bangle does 30 more if the pokemon is pokemon EX. Because seimitoad EX has weakness to grass, the damage is double to 180.

@@thonk7611 i use a floges ex deck back in 2015, here are the list cards that pull seimitoad EX out of commission: silver bangle, volbeat with pester attack from xy primal crisis, spinarak and ariados with poisonous nest ability as well as double colorless energy. During the setup, you'll want the place a fairy pokemon in the active and place volbeat and spinarak onto the bench. Starting with the First turn, if you have the silver bangle in hand attach it to volbeat, and attach a fairy energy on to the active fairy. On the second turn, if you have ariados in hand, place it on to spinark to evolve it. Retreat the active fairy pokemon and sent out volbeat and attach a double colorless energy to it. Use ariados' poisonous nest ability to pokemon both active pokemon that are not grass type, volbeat is a grass type. With the silver bangle attack to volbeat the previous turn and seimitoad EX is now poison, get ready for the a powerful combo: volbeat pester attack does 30 damage, plus 30 more if the opponent's pokemon is affect by special condition, plus 30 more if the opponent's pokemon is a pokemon is a pokemon EX which total 90 damage. But wait, we were talking about the seimitoad EX that is affect by poison; because volbeat is grass that seimitoad EX has weakness to, that 90 damage became double which come to 180 damage, knocking out the troublesome pokemon EX card.

As a kid I didn’t know anything about Pokemon cards but I did pull a singular ex card. And it was seismatoad. I thought it was lame since I didn’t play at all and it’s funny to see almost 10 years later that I had basically the best card in the game

I played Virizion/Genesect to counter the toad players at league. Laser didnt work with Virizon ex if I had a grass energy attached, and one attack with Virizion to attach to a Genesect ex made the hammers not matter

Seriously Burts, I just beat Silent Hill 3 for the first time this weekend, and it was a Masterpiece! And then you use the music from the game? What are the odds? :D Anyways, I played a lot of Seismitoad back in the day. I got 9th place at Danish Nationals with it back in the day (Just missed day 2, sigh) Played it with Empolion and "Powerfull Friends" Miltank. When you got a couple of Empolion up, it was ridiculously strong. One match even Manaphy EX got a win because of Empolions abillity. My opponent was pretty shocked to say the least. :D
