Jackie Cooper was The old pro, alda was the new punk that never did any thing good BUT MASH and Cooper made THAT GOOD! Think about it what did alda do???????????? but MASH

The show lost it's edge when Henry and Trapper bailed and Alda started using a comedy as his own soapbox to discuss social ills.

Nope. It got BETTER when Colonel Potter arrived on the scene. Never much cared for the roles of Henry Blake and Trapper John Mcentire, it was hardly much to be taken seriously. When Potter and BJ Hunnicutt came on the scene, it was much more scientific and medicial.
