Costing 7 and requiring more fixing is really crippling. We only need to be able to search for Mirror Entity, the rest is just bonus, and having to get it later in the game with more fixing required is crippling for Tiamat. I find you should only run Tiamat if getting multiple searches is required.

For those of you that don't know, I'm an artifact that costs 1, you pay 2 and tap to sacrifice it and you get a basic land into play tapped. And even with my recent reprint in one of the Forgotten Realms Commander decks, I'm still $2.68. So again, for most of Mitch's budget decks, this still would unfortunately not make the cut, but again, this is Mitch's pet deck, so he's made some exceptions for cards he already owns. 40:19 in the credits as well. As of this posting, I'm slightly cheaper than I was when Mitch made this video: on TCGPlayer, my lowest market price is currently $2.49 for my The List and my Commander: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms printing.

In the loosest way possible, this deck could actually be thematic. Somehow, General Tazri is using the example set by Mirror Entity to show all the creatures in the multiverse that they're all living beings at the end of the day, finally convincing them to put aside their differences and combine all their abilities in a united front against the Eldrazi.

Unless I missed it, I'm suprised I didn't see Door of Destiny in there. Since every creature you play is every type you essentially get one charge counter each time you cast a creature and eventually you don't have to worry too much about the base power and toughness aspect of Mirror Entity. Massively pumping your army and that doesn't include your anthem creatures. Also Lin sivvi defiant hero or spawning kraken would work wonders as well

I tried building a deck very similar to this when I saw the first video with maskwood nexus. Basically, I just have golos as the commander, and I designed the deck in such a way that I can activate golos a bunch of times by untapping stuff, and it also helps me tutor the world tree, which is a backup plan with maskwood nexus. I also threw some other random combos like turntimber ranger and arcane adaptation, najeela and derevi, and voice of the woods and intruder alarm. I do like how you really went all out with the creature types in your deck. My deck primarily has wizards, elves, and merfolk, but I also have cards like myr galvanizer, Magda, captivating vampire, Atla pelani, and koma. Myr entity is also important in my deck too.

I think you should add sliver hive and swarm yard. One makes tokens and gives you any mana to cast and swarm yard lets you regenerate any creature

Sliver Hive's manafixing doesn't work with Mirror Entity, only with Maskwood Nexus.

One fantastic tribe lord you didn't include in this- Stromkirk Captain. It costs 1BR is a 2/2 with first strike, and it gives your other vampires +1/+1 and first strike.

Dunno if anyone else has recommended this one yet, but Pyre of Heroes would be a really good budget tutor in this deck. It's got limitations but the biggest one is that it tutors for a creature that shares a type with the sacrificed creature, so you already have a way around that one.

You misspoke about Krosan Verge, one of my personal favorites when using White and Green at least. You search for a Forest AND a Plains, and they don't need to be basics, so you can find a Plains/Island and a Forest/Mountain for instance to really fix your mana.

Great video. So tempting to just make this the next purchase lol. However, I have a question: It looks like Mirror Entity (and Maskwood Nexus) are the key cards to the deck -- Removing either of these cards would hobble the deck maybe. You have some protection built in. It looks like you'd need to set everything up fairly well, then drop Tasri, then drop Mirror Entity. And have mana left over to protect or make use of Entity's ability. I'm curious how players handle this in a pod.

I have an element of random type payoffs in my Reaper King deck, running fun stuff like Haakon, Yuriko, Faerie Noble (David Bowie in disguise), Lilliana's Contract (not a creature but very big payoff, and 4 cards is nice), and a Notorious Throng (huge payoff potentially). Some of these aren't 'great' cards in the deck all the time, but there are enough Changelings to make these work if I can't get Maskwood out. I enjoyed this vid, because I could probably sneak a few more into the deck, I was thinking of Krenko, Mob Bos or Marrow-Gnawer, or maybe both, as extra token generation to widen my board. Even if I don't have Maskwood out, if I've gotten Dragon Throne of Tarkir out, that can easily win off of a wide board, usually with Reaper King being my biggest creature, which has the upside of keeping him away from combat shenanigans as well.

So for starters, this will be a very long comment. As I've had my own journey to building this exact deck, I love your version, definitely stealing some of the mama fixing things like Saki, harabaz druid, myr galvanizer, and a bunch of other things. This one is interesting though as you focused more on the lords, and I focused more on the tribal pieces. Originally I didn't even plan to build the deck this way, it started out as wanting to build Reaper King scarecrows + changelings and a bit of copy token strategy (think progenitor mimic). And then I added some fun tribal things, i figured I'm already playing a bunch of changelings, why not throw in a card I like that normally gets its value of itself, risen reef. Its also worked well with the elementals already in the deck, such as animar and yarok (two of my favorite commander builds, and they definitely seemed like they worked in here), and additionally, progenitor + risen reef is insane. But then I started encountering some interesting issues, first of all mana fixing but that was to be expected. But second, and foremost, people didn't like getting their permanents blown up by reaper king (who also btw would be a fantastic lord for your dec) so I switched the commander. I built it as Morophon, the deck was already leaning towards combo so I added more when cast creature __'insert type here'__ then do _'something'_ sort of effects (think kindred discovery... Or actually just all the 'kindred' card 😂). Plus I mean, morophons is yet another fantastic lord, his cost reduction is amazing, and he is a changeling in my command zone. I can abuse him or any of my changelings via copying or flashing, and a direction I want to take the deck in is graveyard recursion. Morophon still paints a big target on back, so I think I want to switch to Atogatog. Not only would it be hilarious, but would are they gonna do when I slam down rotlung reanimator (or xathrid necromancer, theyre the same but reversed) and sacrifice infinite zombie human cleric atogs and hit them with atogatog for game

I think if you're putting budget aside, a decent include would be Chatterfang. It's a good sac outlet, and a greatway to make more tokens. It basically lets you sac things in response to exile effects and get to blow up something of your opponents for doing so. Would be a good way to deal with an opponent who has something indestructible and casts a wrath.

I don't think I've ever been so glad to see a deck tech for Bootleg Slivers a.k.a. I Can't Believe It's Not Slivers. My ongoing project is Tetsuko Umezawa's Silly Sea Monsters. Charix, the Raging Isle is already in the 99, along with Crookclaw Transmuter, Serendib Sorcerer, Merfolk Thaumaturgist, and Twisted Image. I hit a bit of a snag, so for now, I'm hoping Wizards prints more weird blue creatures to swing in unblocked with the aid of the commander, Tetsuko.

Steely resolve might be a perfect fit for this deck: choose a creature type like Eye or something random, and youl be able to ‘switch on’ shroud with your whole squad with a mirror entity activation. Only problems may come with wanting to target your own creatures, especially if you have Maskwood in play, but that doesn’t seem like it would be a major issue.

So I built this on cockatrice and it seems really susceptible to early game removal and exile. Our groups limit is 300 a deck so any tips on protecting the combo early or good mid price cards to add? I really want this deck to work more consistently as I love the theme!

I actually did something similar funny enough, I made an Orvar, the All-Form deck that focus around lords and all creature types giving an advantage, with the caveat that I had quite a few cards to target permanents to make more copies of the lords or other creatures/lands.

Hear me out. Lin Sivvi is an excellent card in these types of decks because she can both tutor your changelings and recur them from the graveyard to play again. Sure it's a bit slow and clunky these days, but the rebel engine still works.

I'm working on a deck now that's the same concept, but with sliver overlord as the commander, and stuff to change opponents creature types too so I can steal the best stuff. I also want to sit down and pull out my commander just to hear everyone groan thinking it's full on slivers. Plus, sliver overlord has a built in sliver tutor, a lot like Tazri.

Two cards that could be a lot of fun in this deck, one as a mana fixer and one as a win condition (no idea pricing, though) Rooftop Storm- 5U Enchantment. You may pay 0 rather than pay the mana cost for Zombie creature spells you cast. If everything is a zombie, everything is free. Who cares what your mana base is at that point? Liliana's Contract - 3BB. Enchantment. When it enters the battlefield, you draw 4 cards and lose 4 life. At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control four or more Demons with different names, you win the game. Everything is a Demon means the win condition is too easy to get. The draw 4 is a nice bonus. Put them together and... Well, you get an easy win.

So ive had a bit of a stroke of genius i guess with this deck type, ive been playing with this decklist for about a number of months now and while i like it i truly and honestly love orvar, the all-form. So long story short im going to use this decklist as sort of a shell and plop orvar in place of changeling entity, making essentially a 5 color orvar secret commander deck

Because sliver overlord is a repeatable tutor commander. But yeah it’s slivers with extra steps. The only reason to not just use overlord is to jump over a “sliverless” hurdle for creativity
