@@5w4m9y I mean like the synonym to “contemporary,” not the movements of modernism. Definition for modern: adj. “relating to the present or recent times as opposed to the remote past.” It’s just another way of referring to current times. Also Conan has been around since the 80’s, he’s actually fairly traditional with his comedy style and not really postmodern in the same way that Eric Andre is with his satirical deconstruction of the talk show format.

i completely understand the logic. i have some crappy anxiety sometimes, but i can go to a party or festival and completely let loose and survive. it's more so like going on a date to a restaurant or realizing alot of people are listening to the story im telling. if i have to feel out of my element and also use my brain to be entertaining or informative it just doesnt work out well. i become weirdly boring and stupid because half of my brain is too busy freaking out and trying not to show it.

hey when you get to the other side... just focus on whom else cares about what you care about. If that list is below 3 people that aren't family... maybe pivot. No jokes. Phineas Gage was tamping some explosives into a hole. He worked for a railroad, and they used explosives regularly. They made holes, filled them with explosives, and tamped it down (before setting it off). They (would normally) add a fuse and then light it. He made a spark tamping the explosives into a hole, and the tamping rod (metal) was launched into his face, and out the top of his head. He was the supervisor/manager at the time. They TRIED to let him CONTINUE TO BE MANAGER of a site that was actively using explosives (after treatment). The change in his personality led to the modern understanding that the different sections of the brain govern different functions of the body, and mind. There was not a railroad spike.

Little known fact: Thomas the Tank Engine was based on Phineas Gage. He said 'I think I can, I think I can' & went on to live another dozen years. Sheer will kept him alive. Fortunately he had recently been researching a lot of Enlightenment Philosophy as of late & was just reading up on René Descartes. 'I think therefore I am', is the quote that kept him alive. - Eventually Wilbert Awdry adapted Gage's story thru his own Christian lens as a bedtime story for his son. Which later became the Famous Animated Series we all know.
