The way you explain things in Apple Motion makes me actually want to give it a second chance. I gave up on it years ago but you've inspired me to try again! Keep up the great work, Dylan!

I swear since including Motion in my editing workflow my videos have become so much more polished, and your channel has been a fantastic resource. From one creator to another, I seriously appreciate the videos you’re putting out. This issue in particular has been driving me crazy… until now! Cheers

This is one of the biggest problems I’ve faced with motion. You’ve shown me this in the past but I forgot it and was going to have to go back and dig through things to figure out how you put it. You are doing an f'ing amazing job. I've thought for years that Motion needed someone to give it love, and you're the guy to do it. Thanks buddy.

Nice video . Thank you, but last question didn’t have an answer: how to keep middle part not stratching and keep speed consistent if we use in and out markers? Thanks

I remember the first time I follow one of your tutorials and you did this. It made so much sense but it’s crazy that Apple motion doesn’t do this automatic. You’re amazing Dylan!! Can I request a tutorial for a customizable animated pie chart? A more traditional where you can do different values that equate a total. The one you did is amazing and super useful but it only has one value that goes to 100%.

This is the issue in the custom title in FCP and this is the best way to fix that issue. Thanks a lot Dylan! what a saver!

Nice gradient background in the video. Could you dedicate one video to show how you make these moving gradient backgrounds? Much thanks Dylan.

Many thanks! I'm just learning Motion, and I suspect you've saved me a huge amount of stress.

Very cool. They should add a Loop project in so you could combine the whole lot: Built in, build out and loop for a variable length.

Another great tutorial, Dylan. One question - is there a way to have a behavior ignore the build in/out markers? For example, I want the beginning and end to fade in/out at a set rate, which it does, but I also want an image to spin in the background at a constant rate from beginning to end. If I extend the clip, the image spins slower in the middle "stretch zone." I thought the spin behavior with the "constant setting" selected would do the trick, but it doesn't.

I've been learning Motion these last couple of years since ditching Adobe's subscription model and honestly it's still frustrating how much more difficult it is compared to After Effects. There are so many little things that just don't make any sense. I've honestly considered just getting an After Effects subscription, especially after Motion VFX has gone a subscription model to add tools available in AE.

It would be nice if either Mr. Dylan or Mark Spencer would create a Motion 5 book.

How can we use optional In, out and project look together? What if i need that intro, outro but want to loop the middle part to the length of clip ? 😅

So, there is no way of combining both build and looping?

I need a channel that has tutorials for using motion as a motion graphics editor not just clips for final cut Stuff like logo, text, vector animation for product marketing and ads Do you any suggestions and specific tutorials on that?

I have many! Usually at the end I loop it around to send it to FCP, but it can all stay self contained inside of Motion. This playlist has all of my Motion Tutorials kzbin.info/aero/PL02OH3lOOLeKQF7yoEcQ18V8qr-7UtOSI&si=8MFe8kmOl--l_Omd I also suggest you check out these channels www.youtube.com/@JennJagerPro www.youtube.com/@rippleguys www.youtube.com/@SimonUbsdell

I have a newbie question, please.... When working in apple motion 5.6.4, I cannot do anything on the screen, I have to do it all through the inspector. So for instance, when I create a rectangle mask over an image as soon as I let go of the cursor I cannot find any way to access the control points on screen. Or if I am in 3D there are no xy and Z controls on the screen. Nothing works on screen once the inital action is completed. Right clikcing the mouse or control pad I tried every option and none worked. It is probably something simple, but I cannot figure it out and it has been like that for as long as I can recall (months and months). Thank you!

There's a chance you might have disabled the guides on screen! Happens to me all the time. You can re-enable them by pressing "CMD + /". Hopefully that solves your issue!

@@TheFinalCutBro OMG! Laughing at my own folly! That was it. I thought t was only the safe zones and rulers etc. ... Well , experience is the best (and only) teacher. Thank you very much!

Someone has yet to figure out and explain how to make the rate of behaviors consistent _within_ the looping part. Think of an animated logo which needs to wiggle at its constant rate during an arbitrarily stretched loop.
@TheFinalCutBro11 ай бұрын
It’s not that it’s not figured out, it’s that the feature isn’t there unfortunately. Hope that comes some day!
