I’ve been looking forward to this test Loyd so really good to hear your thoughts on what certainly looks to be a great piece of kit 👍

Thabks for this review man, so good. I love the lock off valves and definitely have that same issue with the quiver on the salomon one. Especially when I attach it to my inov8 vest. Great review as ever Lloyd 👌👏

I bought this pack a while ago and I’ve had to do a bodge on the front clips in order not to lose them (the clips come off very easily as they are slightly too large for the webbing - I have lost one already) - otherwise I’m happy with the comfort of the pack overall. I haven’t tried using a bladder WITH a full pack and 2 bottles on front, so gonna try that and see if its realistic weight/comfort wise. Doing the UTS 100 in 3 weeks so dialling in the set up. Thanks for the video. Like, comment, share !

I’m not a fan of the closure system on the front of the vest, I’m always having to tighten it as I’m running. I also find it quite tricky to get things in and out of the front pockets while running? I personally think the Salomon Adv 12 set is a much better vest. Best of luck at UTS, enjoy the mountains! 🏃♂️💪

I have the Apex Pro and have the same issue with the straps on the front. Specifically the top one, which I spend most of a run tightening the damned thing back up. It's such a pity, because otherwise it's excellent but it drove me crazy on a 20 miler a couple of weeks ago.

I had the same issue with a montane pack, I bought the Salomon bungees separately from Amazon and fitted it instead, works brilliantly

@@alexmahoney8481 Oh that's something that never occurred to me, what a great idea!

I replaced the top strap with one from my Inov8 vest. The solid locking strap works perfectly, holding the shoulder placement with a fully laden pack.
@rayamos13988 ай бұрын
@@Duffers782 ah nice one, I'll give that a try. I did check out the Salomon bungee but it's not compatible with the Camelbak.

Great review. And I’m the same as you. I prefer the Salomon bungee close system at the front. I would be interested what Lega thinks Bc as a woman I would find the camelback system a bit intrusive on the bust area. Let us know!

What a great review! Thank,you! Thanks to you I bought my Instinct waist belt which I love! I am curious if there is something like the Apex Pro only maybe a bit less storage(?). I may just buy this one! My soft flasks are 650ml so may be too big to fit. I realize two 500ml are included but I like more. What size bladder does it hold?
@janalaughlin21973 ай бұрын
Ok think I’ll watch your review on Solomon advanced skin 12!
@Run4Adventure3 ай бұрын
I would definitely check out our review for the Salomon Adv 12. In my opinion it’s the best running hydration vest on the market. You won’t be able to use 650ml bottles with it though but you can carry a 1.5L or 2L bladder 👍 Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏

Loyd, do you think you could switch out the sternum straps for the one you like on Solomon's Adv Skin 12?
@Midhillcouldnever5 ай бұрын
Have you ever tried the vest from Aonijie brand, I would like to know the difference from this cheap china brand and the expensive brand like salomon or others. Im thinking to buy some budget vest for trailrunning.
@jeanyves42209 ай бұрын
Great review. Those leaky Salomon flasks are pretty annoying, have you checked to see if Camalback’s fit in a Salomon pack?
@Run4Adventure9 ай бұрын
The CamelBak soft flasks are a lot wider than the Salomon ones unfortunately 🤔 Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching 🙏

so i'm looking at doing a rim to rim at the Grand Canyon. Is there enough room for storing for extra socks, sun shirt, puffy jacket or a ultra light rain jacket and pants, gloves and night lamps?
@Run4Adventure3 күн бұрын
The Apex Pro has a lot of storage space in the main compartment but it really depends on how small your puffer jacket packs down? 🤔

I had a camekbak vest years ago and couldn’t stand those straps constantly coming loose. Shame since otherwise a good vest but those straps are awful. Also they chafed me to the point of bleeding on any long run. Salomons elasticated straps are the only way to go for me.

Great review! Thank you! I like to run with my phone (the large one from samsung - 6.4" x 3.07" x .35"), and I'd really like to have it up front for easy access. No one ever seems to comment on the size of the front or side pockets (actual measurements) - not even the manufacturer's info tells us. Do you know if either of the vests you mentioned will store a large phone up front? Thanx so much!
@Run4Adventure9 ай бұрын
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I think you’d struggle to fit your phone in the front pockets of the Apex Pro but you should be fine in the Salomon ADV SKIN 12. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏🙂

What is the max length of poles that will fit in the quiver?
@Laurenelizo8 ай бұрын
I kinda want this, it looks more stylish than the salomon, but not sure how I feel about the straps either.

I wouldn’t pick a running pack on whether it looks more stylish, the Salomon Adv skin 12 is definitely the better pack 👍

@@Run4Adventure I run in one of the Salomons women’s cut packs and love it. What’s your recommendation re carrying poles though? (At the moment I just hold them in my hands the whole time, which isn’t great…)
