Looks like a good unit, and it's on offer at amazon right now. Do you still have it? does it still work ok?

You kind of rushed through the part where you connect up the battery at 2:15 or so. Seems every member of the production crew is named zubilitic.

Hello, Kindly please share what exactly you need regarding the battery connectivity and I'll try to provide you the needed details. I was fast there because is not much to see: plug the cables and close the lid. Regarding the production crew, I am one man army and doing this in my spare time. Thank you for your visit and comment ;)

Hi. What are the DSL modem in/out ports for and how to use them?
@zubilitic
@zubilitic 4 ай бұрын
Hello, those LAN ports they claim to provide some sort of surge protection. For example in the "Wall Outlet" you plug the cable that comes from your provider and in the other your modem, router, computer, whatever. If there is some high voltage coming from the external line (bad equipment, thunder, etc.), your equipment will be safe. However, the ports' hardware limit for this UPS is 100Mbps so if your provider is giving you gigabit (1000Mbps), you cannot use this feature because you will limit the internet speed to 100Mbps only. Hope this helps. Cheers!

you know if this data port works connected to a Synology NAS USB Port ?
@zubilitic
@zubilitic 9 ай бұрын
Hello, it should work with any device/computer that has the drivers for it and is able to detect it. I have not tested it with any Synology NAS because I do not have one, sorry.

What is the power consumption of the device itself when fully charged, i.e. how much overhead does it add?
@zubilitic
@zubilitic Жыл бұрын
Hello Bjorn, Sorry for delay, I was a bit busy these days. The device is consuming about 2w, fully charged and without anything connected to it.

@@zubilitic Thanks! Sounds phenomenal. How much load do you have on the UPS? The spec sheet says 55W minimum which is about the limit where efficiency graph starts to drop off. Overall the BE850G2 seems like a better buy than the BE650G2 in a lot of ways, including efficiency at small loads.

I always go for higher version if the difference is not big. I do not have many things on this device, just an alarm system and a POE switch with two cameras and one wifi connected to it. It was able to keep all this up and running for about 4 hours last time the main power went away.

How is it going with your 4 month young BE850G2-GR? Cheers!
@zubilitic
@zubilitic 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, It is working very well, no issues so far. I have 2 switches (one PoE, one simple) and the alarm on it. On PoE switch I have 3 IP cameras. Each time the power went down, this one took over without problems. It is overkill for what I have but better overkill than overloaded :D

@@zubilitic thank you very much for your swift reply, appreciated. Today I commissioned 1o2 that I bought. Testing 1o2 on my NAS now for compatibility as my DS1821+ DSM 7.1 recognizes the APC as “ES 850G2”, so dropped SynologY a ticket for confirmation. KYP! Cheers

Which one is better this or BR650MI?
@zubilitic
@zubilitic 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Both are great but I do not thing they can be comparable in this way. I use BR650MI with my servers (two mac mini, one 5HDDs storage, one router, two switches and one media converter). This one (BE850G2-GR) works better under the desk or where you have to plug many things like switches, alarms. I love how BR650MI shows the information on it's small display (see it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2atXpR8oLaUo7M). BE850G2-GR does not have display but instead you have outlets and even USB to charge whatever. It totally depends of where you want to use it. Hope this response helps you.

Hi, can you completely disable the sound alarm?
@zubilitic
@zubilitic 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, if you activate mute by pressing the mute button, it will stay like this no matter how many times the main power goes down. However, I believe if you stop it (by log pressing the power button) the mute mode will be reverted. Then you will have to press the mute button again. Then, repeat :)

@@zubilitic Thanks! That's great, I didn't know there was a mute button :) Is this UPS a good option for a modem and router? I am trying to decide between this one and the Eaton 3S Mini, which is much smaller but the "online" type
@zubilitic
@zubilitic Жыл бұрын
Eaton 3S Mini is fricking small I see :) I guess it could be an interesting solution for modem+router. On their brochure is stated 40 minutes runtime on battery for a 15w modem. I would say 20-30 minutes in reality and probably much less over time. If you have an area where the electricity doesn't go off for long periods it could be OK. Also, I haven't seen in the manual anything about battery replacement so probably they cannot be replaced and that might be the main downside. IMHO this is more a power bank with AC input than an UPS :)
