I bought my Ninja V+ for my Sony fx3 but i honestly want to use the ninja for just a minitor and record everything in my FX3 is it possible to just use the monitor as to view my image that comes out of my camera and not record on it but just view..i do want my 120fs 4k recorded in my FX3 and not the Ninja V+…i do have memory cards for the ninja and all but i decided that id rather just record with my sony in Slog3 use the monitor just to see whats going on… let me know if this is possible thanks..

Colors and brightness suck, I'm selling mine to get the shinobi. My LCD is brighter and has much better colors then my monitor lol... kills the purpose of even having a monitor

If you have this on a gimbal and go in underslung mode will the monitor flip automatically or do you have to remove and flip it upside down?

The atomos ninja v has a setting where you can flip the screen in a setting upside down. Normally when I get low shots with the gimbal I have the recorder on the smallrig handbrake i have so it doesn’t haven’t to move much (other than adjusting tilt) when I have it normal vs low shots

@@SGOVisions Yes! I don’t see myself really finding a reason to unlock the RSC2 for it’s built in underslung mode if I have the smallrig handbrake. With the extra grip, I can already go really low

@@JordanNaval ill look into that handle maybe i can slap it onto my DJI dual switch handles or somewhere on the rig. Do you find yourself ever needing the sun shade box thing? Can i plug my rode mic to the monitor and record that audio without recording with the ssd and monitor setup? Basically only use the monitor for better view and audio only?

@@SGOVisions in terms of needing shade, no issue as the screen is really bright. As for the latter, have not tested the audio in that way as it seems a bit counter intuitive to just recording the audio all together in my honest opinion

just wanna understand. Why do you need the atomos ninja v ( max 4k 60fps ) when the r5 can do up to 8k 30fps internally?

External recording eliminates the record time limit the R5 has internally and stops the camera from build heat as fast.
