Thanks bro, think I found a solution to my biggest filming workflow problem. One question though, with the lower profile of the PD plate, did you have any issues with clearance between the SmallRig plate and lenses?

Thanks for watching, and I haven’t had a problem (yet) with clearance. Biggest lens I have used with it is a RF 70-200 f2.8 and it wasn’t a problem.

@@JordanNaval Yeah, after some research I believe the clearance is only an issue if you are using the lens support bracket. Gonna try it out, you got yourself another sub!

Hi Jordan, after a month of using the new Smallrig plate with PD capture plate - how do you like it? Did you find out how works safety pin? :) And please when you put there camera with PD plate does it make the sound "CLICK" like when you put it into PD capture clip? I mean when I hear that sound on my PD capture clip I know the safety pin will secure the camera. Does it work the same way on Smallrig plate? And when you put PD plate there on Smallrig plate - does it find its possition by itsself (and will stick there) or you have to adjust its possition by your fingers (right in the midlle) and then tight the knob? Sorry for so many question but alas it is not clearly visible from your video :)

I like this plate a lot, used it on three high profile shoots since then. Have held my gimbal upside down a couple times with it and it held firmly. In terms of the safety pin, I hear it but I don’t know how much it would actually help as the main thing holding the plate is the knob that you twist the plate into place with. You do hear a click though and my trick is tilting the peak design plate at a 45 degree angle down first forward facing then dropping the backside of the plate in on top of the safety pin then tightening it with the knob. Hope this helps!

How stiff or loose is the knob on the plate? Just got mine and it feels like if I brushed against it, it would loosen immediately.

Hi Eric, mine feels sturdy and locked in tight! If it’s loose, would suggest reaching out to them to get a replacement because that worry isn’t something you’d probably want 😊

Hi Jordan, I tried two SmallRig 3061 plates, one I got from BH Photo and the other directly from SmallRig. The SmallRig 3061 plates get jammed about an inch into the DJI RSC2. How did you get your SmallRig 3061 plate to fit. I also tried to unscrew the DJI RSC2 plate lock with a 1.5 Allen Wrench and the screw will not budge so that I can loosen it to make the DJI RSC2 plate holder wider to hold the 3061 plate. Can you let us know how you got your 3061 plate into your DJI RSC2? Did you have to adjust your DJI RSC2 in order for the SmallRig plate to fit?

Hey, only thing I can think of is you have to have your plate slider locks unlocked on the side along with holding the little slide lock button on the left side when you’re facing it. When you put the plate in, it goes backside first into the holder on the RSC2. Those are the only things I can think of as you could see it was all setup on video fine without issues.

@@elevatedfilm there was no solution. SmallRig sent me a replacement plate and it still had the same issue. SmallRig service also stated they would compensate me for the scuff the plate left but no one ever followed up on it. I just gave up.

Just bought one, the safety pin is just useless, it won't hold the camera if screw unscrews too much which makes it just useless. I will send back the plate and try to find another solution...

@@JordanNaval how do you like it? I saw few videos and there was said that the lock system is quit flimsy. I am not sure that I would feel safe holding my gimbal in underslung mode just by this handgrip.

@@rodinnyfotograf It’s sturdy and locks on tight. Not sure why anyone would say it’s flimsy because if anything the only difficulty is getting it on the RSC2 as the design forces you to make it tighter since it’s different from the RS2 that it was originally designed for. The plate system the handbrake is attached to to the gimbal is the very strong. I always double check and do a little shake test after setup and it doesn’t shake at all.

Don’t quote me on this but I put a pretty heavy payload with the Canon r5, battery grip, EF 50mm and step up rings to filter, ninja v with heavy battery and it holds up after hours of event use.
