The Grudge (2004) traumatized me so much I had nightmares about Kayako every other day and screamed in my sleep a few times, but then I saw Audition which is scarier, fell in love with it, and rewatched it every week. Priorities are nowhere to be found. 👁️👄👁️ Also that low-budget japanese horror film where girls get turned on by pain, so one of them decides to dip her hand in batter and fry it in hot oil, and then she was eating her tempura hand while orgasming. Now I think it's kinda fab to be honest, but as a child it was traumatizing.

The way this episode ended. 😂 Little Monsters 1989 scarred me. 😅 For a kids movie there was just to much creepy imagery with all the monster designs. Like each monster had a unique look, but even just thinking about the movie makes my stomach turn. I even looked at some images before posting and it made me feel 🤢. But I will say that I LOVED The Witches.

The 3 movies that scared me as a kid were 1. The Blob, it was frightening seeing a movie that didn’t care about killing off a child on screen. 2. The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, that movie is twisted and the scene with the green house gave me anxiety 3. The Secret Window, I was utterly ruined and messed up after seeing the scene with the dog. Honorable mention The Brothers Grimm because of the scene with the horse And Creepshow 2 and the raft episode. (Apparently a blob just scares me) 😅

Since I was one of those whimpy kids who was scared of everything (unless it was Disney, Bluth, Henson, or Harryhausen), I didn't see a lot of horrifying films (tv and books were a different matter but anyway). I think something that did mess with my brain was Superman III. My parents were watching it on TV, and this super-computer grabbed a woman and transformed her into a robot. The robot part is ridiculously silly and it keeps the woman's goofy hair, but her getting overwhelmed by cybernetics was really unsettling to me. The special effects also looked a lot better in my memory compared to how it actually looks in the film. Also Nightmare Before Christmas had tv ads that freaked me out way too much, but when I finally saw it, it became a favorite of mine for about 2 years lol.
