It's hard to imagine anything LESS productive than paper notebooks that don't automatically index text to make it searchable, and aren't available from any device anywhere. Modern electronic devices are so much more advanced and productive. But perhaps the idea of being productive isn't always about really being more productive?

That last sentence sums it up for me! Yes, using digital notebooks are far more 'productive' in the sense that your information is always available and searchable. That has a lot of of benefits. For me, having my to-do list on paper doesn't compromise productivity too much since I don't have _that_ much going on (and since I work from home, which is a plus!).
