I'm trying to launch a KZbin channel and am quickly discovering that my self-esteem is lower than I thought. I filmed myself saying "hi, my name is Zoe" and completely overheated and shut down. I like that you mentioned not only using text and voice-overs, but to use stock images and audio to enhance your videos. I think I'll definitely try this until my confidence grows a bit more. 😊👍🏻

I just posted my first KZbin video yesterday and felt unmotivated by low views …but I have to remind myself that I’m still figuring out what I want to do and it’ll be a long journey 😅 It’s not easy as an introvert!

Ahh this is so relatable on every level! I've been wanting to start a KZbin channel for a long time but was so scared of not being good enough. I watched a ton of of "how to start a youtube channel" videos, they all started with the same thing: just start. And so when I moved to NYC, I finally did (all it took was me moving ~2900 miles 😅). I'm still working on talking to the camera and ~everything~ else, but I'm so happy that I finally started and it's so nice being able to be creative and having fun while doing it

Although we have pretty much nothing in common (I'm a middle-aged male lawyer living in Europe) I really like your style too. You have found the right speech velocity I think, as in your first videos you were talking too fast. I also like the softness and quietness of your tone, which brings calm in our hectic lives. I think KZbin is one of the best ways for introverts to express themselves and lay roots in any business undertakings ironically enough. It takes away a lot of the social irritants and stressors that get under most introverts' skin.

My advice to those out there that aren't ready to speak directly to the camera right away, don't worry about it. Just make content and upload it in the meantime. Not only are you satisfying the algorithm and getting your channel an early start, you will feel more comfortable knowing your community a bit more. This will make it far easier. This is my plan. I am lucky that my niche is more about the action. But even so, I will eventually have to start to open up more.

KZbin channelling is great for introverts. I have also started a channel. Need to learn about editing etc though. I use iPhone and only know to cut the start and end of the videos before uploading. Any videos on basic editing tools

That camera shyness is real! It’s kind of why I started my channel with purely technical content, and now I’m planning to branch out into showing more of my personality haha. I also did the whole blog thing for 2.5 years before starting KZbin too!

Love this! I'm also a south asian woman, however the I've never had social media so the idea of showing my face on camera makes me want to barf. Do you have any advice for making videos without showing your face? I was thinking of just wearing a normal face mask, but this seems a bit dramatic!

You can always make videos and use slides or stock footage as the visual, and add a voiceover to convey your point. A few channels that do this are Wendover Productions, Company Man, and Kurzgesagt
