Just as others have mentioned, it does need a dab of oil before you use it kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e - put a few drops in through the convenient screw cap and you are good to go! I have fished several weeks with a couple of these, and I will be getting more in the future. I put these against my Abu Garcia Pro Max reel, and they actually perform a bit better than the Abu with some of my lighter cranks, and definitely just as good with the rest of my lures. My Abu is a bit more low profile and fits my hand better, but these are definitely not bad at all. You can almost get 3 of these for the price of my Pro Max. My only complaint is the thumb bar sits pretty high compared to my traditional profile Abu. Bring that thumb bar down a little and I’m sold on these all day long.

I’ll bet a lot of people wouldn’t think a crank bait rod makes a big difference. When you’re actually on a crank bait bite and use a actual crank bait rod versus a regular rod you can tell a major difference. The softness and little delay in your hookset but the distance of your cast. I didn’t think for a long time that could make that kind of difference. Plus I think it’s so much more fun fighting the fish. Thanks Stone Cold! Always loving your content! I have been on a binge today watching your videos!

Enjoyed the video and the work you put in. Good luck this year. I would have a 6’6 medium bait caster in the lineup. Great versatile rod from spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, some cranks and can get away with light jigs and stick worms.

I was looking for the jerkbait rod to get picked, the jerkbait is a year long bait for me, I always have to have that bait, I use a 6’10” medium/moderate action rod and I can throw shallow or deep diving jerkbaits with no problems

Hey Kyle love the channel. Rooting hard for you this year! Wondering if you'd talk about the switch to 13 fishing rods over your homemade Point Blanks? Also, the switch to 13 fishing reels over Shimano? Would be cool to hear.
@JM320XD2 жыл бұрын
It’s called when you buy your own gear you buy Shimano because they are the best. But when your a pro and a company is willing to pay you to use rods and reels you put the Shimano on the shelf at the house and use the free gear and get paid!
@KyleWelcher2 жыл бұрын
Shimano was my first reel ever and I never had a reason to change. Once I saw the potential relationship where my input would be heard and I could help design reels I decided to test 13 and I liked them. As far as rods go I just don't have the time to build rods every spring. It's my busy time of the year already. Hope that helps

@@KyleWelcher seems like the exact reason GMan joined 13. I love and believe in company's more if they actually listen to their prostaff. Can't wait to see what the future holds as far as new rods and reels and baits from 13 with both yalls input

@@KyleWelcher that's cool man. I haven't tried their gear but, always wanted to. To be honest, seeing you using them seals the deal that I'll check them out for my next setup. Thanks for the reply and for putting out so much honest, transparent content. God bless!
@jdubya34982 жыл бұрын
@@andrewvolcom11 I’d say that’s one of the main reasons they both did, but with Rapala of parent company owning both it was natural choice for gman. Like wheeler having 13 patch on his jersey last year. Also strike king( rather outdoors) acquired Lew’s which gman was using. Gave him and Tim Horton a season to get another deal in place. Neither use or sponsored by sk so quit using the Lew’s. As Zona quit using Diawa and started using Lew’s and even came out with signature series rod. It’s a business at end of the day that pays their bills and possibly not their favs but better choice for them at the time. IE design input etc will garner more attention for him. Curious to see what or if he does anything with the 13 hard or soft baits. Has spro & Missile now. Both were first to step up and say we believe in you, so where’s the line for loyalty and line for buying his family’s groceries? As a fan nobody faults them for doing what’s best for them at the time. As a business, entrepreneur, if honest they won’t be either! Might be upset losing them or the less expensive deal they had in place with them. But if they want and believe that they are truly an asset to their business bottom line, they’d have paid them to stay and what they are worth or deserve. Just my 2 cents worth.
