This sessions was fantastic! I learned so much. There was so much great information in this interview that I never knew after 20+ of quilting. My favorite “light bulb” moment was the difference between Heirloom and Tuscany. Thank you

Awesome interview with Stephanie! I learned so much & I'm looking forward to when you have Stephanie & Rhonda on together. I always use new needles when I start new projects & I check my needles if I've been doing a lot of sewing to make sure my projects look as perfect as possible. I'm looking forward to trying out the wool & silk batting now, knowing they're good to use in warmer climates. I'm in S. Florida 🏝⛵. Thank you again for a great informative video 🙆♀️❣ Blessings to you all❣

I’ve always used cotton batting, and hand quilting. I want to do wool with my next project. I am making a quilt, repurposing an old linen/cotton blend duvet cover, and adding in some other Essex linen/cotton piecing. The whole quilt top will be preshrunk cotton/linen. Since the fabric is old, it won’t be shrinking any. Should I prewash and dry the wool batting, before sandwiching, pinning, and quilting?

Will zigzagging batting pieces together cause batting fibers to get into the feed dogs & lower areas of my sewing machine?

I’ve seen some “quilt” their quilt top to their batting without a backing. Will that damage/hurt the batting over time?

Can you use poly batting low loft with a thin cotton batting

Layered on top of each other? As long as their shrink rates are similar, it shouldn't be an issue.

What batting is best for placemats

Any low loft batting would work great, but use wrap-n-zap if you want your placemats to be heat resistant. www.sewingpartsonline.com/products/pellon-wrap-n-zap-microwave-safe-cotton-batting
