Great video! I have also heard 174 unbuffed is the sweet spot (not 178). Also, you did not mention Veras' Envenom ability on Council which deals 5k nature damage to a random target and cannot be cleansed. Healers must focus this target ASAP. We had multiple deaths to Envenom + Flamestrike / Blizzard / Concecrate in my PTR runs.

It is 174. The threshold to guarantee at least 25% damage is resisted every time is 244 resistance, so 174 unbuffed (or 149/139 if you're using one of the flasks).

Your ghost abilities on Gorefiend will be on your pet bar not actionbar though so keep that in mind. Also hunters and mages can cheese shadow of death with FD and Iceblock

A simple macro makes the ghost abilities pretty easy. Just /cast ability 1 /cast 2 /cast 3 (look up the names) and then spam it while you tab through the constructs.

Some of the spells suggested that people use on Bloodboil to survive are from Wotlk. But the general idea is still sound imo. As for the Council, dont... think you can rly AoE then, they all have a 70% or w/e it was dmg reduction from AoE. So people "cleaving" should be a dmg reduction. Stuff like multidots, consecration aka not classic cleave should not count, if memory serves. Unsure if Blade Flurry counts... but who brings Rogues, right? xD P.s. Saw the Thornling not working on Bloodboil from your clip. Damn... had hopes it would so the healers could pump too at the start xD

I did notice one very important piece of info in the video. Illidan can cast shear on the tank, which reduces the tanks max hp by 60%, and can be blocked, parried, or dodged, but CANNOT be missed. The tank should gear appropriately to account for the miss percentage. If the tank gets hit by this, they will almost certainly die.

@@v2occy809 I'd say Paladins are better tanks for Illidan, because they stay uncrushable for longer due to holy shield(8 charges for 10 seconds vs 2 charges for 5 seconds). Threat isn't an issue since Illidan is counted as a demon.

@@svilendenchev9984 Illidan doesn't crush, but pallies do have an easier time remaining unshearable. Their threat is also higher than a warrior (dual wield, demon) when both in full mitigation gear, and warrior can take less damage and does better threat on flames compared to paladin.

Remember that in p3 of Reliquary you can have an offtank/bear get initial aggro and then have the main tank instantly taunt back, applying the buff that gives the tank more threat. As for the soul scream (w/e it's called), swapping stances is easiest way to drop rage before it hits (spell reflect also works well if you don't have that much rage). Also, the fact that Illidari Council is most likely going to be one of the hardest fights for players in classic tbc says a lot. It's one fight that isn't made much easier by having crazy dps (compared to back in the day) - you still have to deal with everything and react accordingly , and threre's a lot going on in tthat fight. Back in the day ,that fight was one of the easier fights in t6, though. Biggest problem was not falling asleep over the course of the 12min fight, lol

Note on Teron. When you have killed your mobs as a ghost you should start to DPS the boss becuase you lower Terons damage and the tank survives more easy.

Very nice guide. Finally someone mentions that there even IS a teleport and we dont have to run all the way up in case of wipe. On PTR i failed Gorefiend as the first person, because my pet bar was not set right, so watch out for that. That being said, 2 out of 3 people failed the mechanic and we still killed him first try, so dont be to worried about this fight.

as many have already mentioned ...174 (not 8) is the sweet spot that completley removes full ticks form the table when fully buffed. But early on...just get what you can Also rocket boots are huge. with boots you can live through an FA with next to no SR due to how fast you break it.
