I love my Kobalt Pole Saw - 80-volt - 5-ah battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Saw. No cable. Using an Oregon Bar and Chain. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees in the woods of our 20-acre farm. I carry it all over our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front.

I have two kobalt 40volt 14inch chainsaws. I brought one with a battery and charger from a pawn shop in September. And recently I bought the other through Facebook market place. It came with 2 batteries and a charger. In time I will have to get a kobalt polesaw

I just bought this product and I am totally happy with it. I needed to work on some shrubs and low hanging branches in my yard . Assembly was simple , using it was simple and this comes from a simple, non handy handy man. My only issue was it does get gummed up a little when trimming shrubbery, however I really dont think thats what its designed for. Cleaning out the gummed up debris was also simple. I would recommend this product.

Perhaps you've already found this since this video, but there is a forward facing screw on the hydraulic reservoir side of the bar that you can use to tension the chain +/-. Just loosen the clamp on the bar just enough to allow freedom of movement so the tensioner can work.

I had NOT found that yet. Best news I’ve heard all day. Thank you!

Looks like the Oregon S33 is the replacement chain for this as well. I have had mine for a couple of years. It is very capable and simple. I want that Kobalt 40v 14" next for taking care of the larger stuff.

I’ve been tempted by the new 14” as well. I have the old model of the 14” and haven’t been overly impressed.

@@MrJustinWheeler Is there a newer 40v that uses the same batteries? I have like 4 bats and 2 chargers because they kept doing specials. Does it heat up a lot?
@MrJustinWheeler2 жыл бұрын
@@jeremywatts2768 yes they released a new 14” this year. The old 14” was okay, but didn’t have the cutting power that my 12” had. I’m optimistic that the new 14” is a little better.

I've gone through 3 Greenworks pole saws. They're great when they work. I take a Jackery 240 out with me to recharge the batteries. I'm going to try the Kobalt next. Hopefully, they'll hold up better.

I've had one for a year and have cut some limbs twice the size of the bar with 0 issues , the only problem I have noticed is when I hang it by the hook to store it the bar oil leaks out of the cap and runs down the shaft and soaks the foam grip .
@MrJustinWheeler2 жыл бұрын
Yep, I’ve noticed the same. I try not to fill the tank when I know I’m getting close to done. To store it as empty as possible.

Lol I got a lidl electric chainsaw for about $100. I've abused the hell out of it cutting logs too big. Brought it with us on our camping trip out west and went through a couple tanks of the chain oil. A electric chain saw is necessary when camping. Can't be using a gas one waking everyone
@MrJustinWheeler2 жыл бұрын
Yep, agreed! There is definitely a place for gas chainsaws, but there are also a lot of times when electric just makes more sense.

@@thejongshow8821 there is a little phillips screw on the end of the saw near the bar. Make sure you have the cover loose, then tighten the screw, then retighten the cover.
