If MasterCommander doesn't seem to map (in Ableton 11), make sure you update your Max application to the newest release (from cycling74.com). Max is free forever as long as you use it inside Ableton Live (so ignore the 30 day trial). 😀

I was thinking about exactly this concept the other day. I was about to go make a m4l patch to test but this saves me a lot of time! Simple and elegant. Well done!

Tried it and it works great! Just wondering why the setting of the CC input is done this way. I would think a midi mappable (dummy)knob would work the same way. Then you could just put it on any track type (master bus being the obvious choice here) instead of just midi. Maybe something’s preventing that? Otherwise, lovely device.

Basically I did it this way to avoid recording automation on the dummy knob. Since that could potentially cause chaos after a few different assignments :D If you have a solution to this let me know!

Is this only for ableton & if there will be version for other DAWs & windows version?

Yes, unfortunately this uses Max for Live so it's can only be used in Ableton 12. But Im sure that someone who is more capable can potentially make something similar for Bitwig :D
