It's impossible to balance the force long term. You may achieve balance but only for a certain period of time, and then you fall to the dark side. That's why the light side is the true path, not in the dogmatic narrow view of the Clone Wars Jedi order way, I'm talking about real Jedi like Qui Gon and Revan.

There was a big difference in experience, and specialization, between the two. She might have surpassed palatine in saber combat given enough time. Palatine was very subtle and efficient with his use of non-saber darkside powers, quite unique in contrast to his saber form. She might have also developed an equally unique style of use for non-saber powers, thus been equally as dangerous in that regard.

*THANK YOU* for covering this. Here's another thing: The inside of Depa's mind at the end of Shatterpoint was described _exactly_ like what Dooku saw when he looked at Sidious through the Force. Same author also wrote the ROTS novel. This is intentional. Look again at the conversation between Chancellor Palpatine, Yoda, and Mace Windu. Through the darkness, Sidious diminished the ability for Jedi to use the Force...but it gave him certain insights without the Jedi being able to pick up on it. Vaapad _doesn't_ feed off of chaos such as insanity, or someone who is like a feral beast. That's why Mace Windu couldn't beat Kar Vastor directly in hand to hand combat + force powers either. Mace had to utilize slight-of-hand tactics (like a GTA online feud) to beat Vastor. I digress: one more thing Vaapad cannot counter is _misguided_ action. One of the fatal fundamental flaws of form 7 is its tunnel-vision: Powerful but blind to what is happening around the user. It's ironic in that a style so focused is also unable to recognize the obvious. It leaves its user unable to understand anything beyond neutralizing the threat. Mace became too dependent on using Shatterpoint instead of analyzing and understanding what's driving a critical point in juncture. (It's exactly what Kreia warned the Exile about millennia previous.) If Mace had continued to attempt to gain some rapport with Skywalker, I believe things would have gone very differently. You can do that and still remain objective. If he could have convinced the chosen one that his strictness was for his own good, and beyond that it was compassion, then he might've been able to convince the confused jedi knight "Whatever (Palpatine) is telling you, he doesn't have the best interest of your loved ones at heart!"

You really think so?! Then my friend you don’t understand what Vaapad is and what was Mace’s true victory conditions. And to compare Vaapad’s hand to hand tactics to gta is ridiculous and ludacris. You’re not hitting anyone in gta that fast so. It is a reason why Vaapad stands alone and why it’s more than a form of light saber combat. Sidious diminished their Force abilities is not true. He blinded their vision from seeing the future but their abilities nah not true my boy. And he was right about Skywalker That is on Skywalker being tunnel visioned and choosing a power that was never meant to be taught to him in the first place. @@tonywright9906 My analogy of Mace using slight-of-hand tactics against Kar Vastor to wartime shooter tactics (of which gta online is part) was based on what he _actually_ did at the end of the Shatterpoint novel. Mace realizes he's too old and too tired to fight this fight the way Kar wants, so instead of hand to hand combat again fools Kar with unlodging a vibroshield from the wall behind him and colliding it with the ones on his own arms which worked out marvelously. Your argument is that "you can't hit them that fast" (in a shooter) is irrelevant and does nothing to address that I likened the alternative _tactics_ Mace masterfully pulled to the type you use in a shooter to sucker someone who may be a better shot (or more likely utilizing annoying glitches and bot-aiming). As to the diminished ability to use the Force? I'm using Mace Windu's own words from AOTC. Right after the meeting with the supreme Chancellor, Mace (naively) said to Yoda "I think it's time to inform the Senate of our diminished ability to use the Force" to which Yoda said "Only the dark lord of the Sith knows of our weakness. If informed the Senate is, multiply our adversaries will." Now, sure you can dispute to what extent their abilities are diminished...BUT that doesn't detract from what I said about the seventh lightsaber form having the fatal flaw of tunnel vision. One of the criticisms of the more aggressive forms V Djem So and VII Juyo/Vaapad were that they leave their users at a loss to resolve things peacefully. This can affect the judgment of its wielder. In this case he didn't see the instability of Anakin and how that was being manipulated, in spite of having the ability to see shatterpoints in the Force and how they act as a cue on relationships of individuals. However, the same author who wrote the Shatterpoint novel also wrote the ROTS novel; the way he described the inside of Depa's mind was almost identical to the way he described what Dooku saw when looking at Palpatine/Sidious through the Force. _That was not a coincidence._ Maybe I didn't make clear: the author is implying that through some means (that the Jedi OBVIOUSLY couldn't sense) the Dark Lord gained insight on Mace's fighting style.

In gta you can’t hit that fast And you can’t telekinetically lift an object and have it shooting like a missile stopping within inches of an opponent’s heart . Not on GTA my friend it ain’t happening. Juyo and Vaapad are completely different. Vaapad has all of Juyo’s strengths and none of its weaknesses. Don’t know where you get your info but Shatterpoint and what little of they show in the clone wars and Mace’s mastery of Vaapad says different about leaving users at a loss of resolving things peacefully is a lie. And the seventh form doesn’t have that fatal flaw. No two people use the seventh form the same. The flaw you spoke of can be said and seen in the other six forms of combat, as well if we’re using that misunderstanding which one or two KZbinrs claim that same thing and was proven wrong as well. You mistake tunnel vision for trying to eliminate the main threat to the republic. I asked this same question people are afraid to answer it due to Anakin being tunnel visioned with the promise of power both times which he ended up losing his wife,his limbs and imprisoned in his cybernetic armor. The question was who was truly too dangerous to be left alive Dooku or Sidious? You mistake Form Vll for six or five or four or something. Once peaceful negotiations fail You have nothing else to talk to about. I’ve read the book many times and it is one of my favorites. Palpatine may have known about Vaapad but he never saw it in action. So we’re going to ignore the true person who was honestly tunnel visioned when he came into the office and fought and lost twice to Obi Wan Kenobi?! He wasn’t tunnel visioned with Djem So?! Mace Windu has shown negotiation peacefully before going into Vaapad . Shatterpoint comics and whatever other source you can find proves that. So that judgement thing is null and void Even Skywalker has shown this. Everything is not GTA and Star Wars is far far away from that.

Unlikely. While Grievous could emulate the movements of various forms of lightsaber combat, his inability to access the force would prevent him from performing the actual abilities that were behind each form, especially with vapaad as it requires the user to feed off of their opponents darkness to increase its own strength

Kar Vastor's exact relationship to Mace Windu is unclear. They're from the same ghosh/clan, but it never says in the book how closely they are related... and given that Mace was an orphan baby (or toddler) when he was taken by the Jedi and Kar is half his age, 'brothers' is impossible

I personally hate the concept of vapad. It adds to the myth that martial arts are magic. Second, its existence implies that anyone could have beaten Palpatine so long as they had the right mindset and use the correct blade sequence. We also don't really know what it looks like since only a grand total of 5 people know it, leaving us with what ever Mace is doing might be it but he has master every lightsaber fighting style so you can never be sure. It is just so poorly described, depicted, and much more sense as a force ability then a martial art.
