It would be great to have the control of orders to have a stop price above a limit price to cushion profit. Say I buy XYZ and I think its going to go up. I buy it at 100 but I want to be able to protect losses and exit in a downward trend. So it would be great to buy at 100, set a stop for 110 and limit of 105. This way I can protect profits. Especially internationally The result being that If the price does go up it will on result in a stop loss After its reached the stop price. Is that possible? I find a stop-Limit doesn't provide much additional risk control then that of a straight limit.

I believe you’re talking about a trailing stop. Set the trailing stop at 110 with a $5 cushion and if it goes down $5 it will trigger as a market order. And it will follow the price of the stock up and whenever it drops $5 from the peak it will trigger as a market order. Check into it.
