I got one for myself for xmas! I absolutely love it. Its definitely a very fitted fight, that is no joke. Absolutely must size up. Almost hard to pinpoint what size to get. I'm 5'8 but with a 44 chest due to some weight training and went with L. Its very fitted and almost considered going XL but then the length proportions would be off. Very high quality jacket. Highly recommend. The only downside are the buttons. Almost impossible to put them on! I feel like I'm going to break something with the force I have to do to push them into the holes.

This is their second version of the Montgomery. I had the first which was easily the best jacket I've ever owned. It fit as if it was bespoked. That leather was amazing and every time I put it on I felt incredible. I still remember how amazing it smelled. Unfortuneately a bag of Damprid leaked on it over the space of a few weeks while I was on vacation and turned it into a hard leather ball. I pre-ordered this one to replace it even though the leather is different just because of the affection I have for the original.

Just got my Montgomery jacket Sunday and I'm curious how in the heck do you actually button this thing?? My thumbs and index fingers feel bruised messing with them and I still never got it fully buttoned. It appears to me that the depth of the buttons is WAY too shallow. Other than the above issue, and its a big issue for a jacket, I really do like the look and feel of it. I guess it's not made to be worn in the cold.
@CarlMurawski3 жыл бұрын
You're right about those buttons, they take some time to kind of wear-in. After they stretch a bit its much easier to button the jacket up. I've noticed this is pretty common with thicker leather goods and denim. Usually the solution is just to work them in a bit.
@cookandr3 жыл бұрын
@@CarlMurawski Thanks for the replay, I appreciate it. So now that you've owned it a while, is it still difficult to button at all? There is nothing worse than fumbling around with buttons, especially when it's cold outside, and these are some of the worst I've dealt with. I'm seriously contemplating returning it solely for this issue. I'm also curious if anyone else has received theirs and what they think.

@locngo50664 жыл бұрын
I have their bomber jacket the second version and also own Schott leather jacket. They are both very high quality in terms of construction and material. However, the bomber jacket from Satchel and Page gave me a "WOW" factor when I open the box. For me the bomber jacket is more versatile than the Montgomery jacket because it fits most body types and you can dress it up or down easily. Still, it depends on what style you want. The Montgomery is more rugged and harder to dress up IMO.

UPDATE 3: Response from S&P regarding QC issue and buttons: Hi Shawn, Thanks for pointing that out. That stitching does not look good! A quick note on the buttons - As the leather is brand new (and quite thick), it is normal that the jacket is difficult to button at first. The leather fibers will soften and loosen, and it will get much easier to button the jacket over time. Actually, if you just leave the jacket buttoned up for a few days, that should help significantly. Just wanted to point that out in case you were considering to re-order. Best Jack Jack Leather Consigliere Satchel & Page UPDATE 2: I couldn't stop thinking about the jacket so I cut open the box and tried it on again. After working really hard to get all the buttons on the length on the sleeves ended up being still long, but wasn't causing any bunching. I started to think "Yeah I'm gonna keep it!". Then I noticed a row of stitching on the front of the jacket that went off course and left a section totally unstitched. I was set on coming up with a way to work the button holes bigger to make it easier to button up but after seeing that QC issue it really scared me. What other hidden stitching could be faulty? Image of QC issue: imgur.com/a/aXYI8Ai UPDATE: I got the jacket today and I have to say it is a beautiful jacket. I tried it on and it fit pretty well except the sleeves were a little too long. I was willing to overlook this because I LOVE the look of the jacket, but after I tried to start buttoning the jacket I just started laughing. They are impossibly hard to button. While I think with some break in it would improve, I just can't see it improving enough to be practical to button up in a timely fashion, and it's just not a risk I'm willing to take at the price of the jacket. Really hard to return :( Just placed an order for an XXL at 6'1 235lbs. Not too long after I placed the order they sent me a survey asking me for my height and weight. Sounds like the sizing has been a real issue and they are trying to screen these issues out before a return happens. Seems prudent to me. Hopefully, I like the way it fits, I do have some smallish love handles that I'm working on getting rid of so we'll see!
