Well toyota is trying to do some interesting things in the small truck segment, (being as they don't want to take away from Tacoma sales too much more than they have to) as that Hilux champ looks to basically be Toyota's Kei truck, which from what I can tell is about like a large size John Deere Gator. So technically not a street legal vehicle. BUT toyota is doing like an SUV truck to compete with the Maverik soon and that will be in the USA, it will look kind of like that Kei truck does, but it will be bigger and street legal. Probably like a RAV4 truck almost. Supposedly to be called the Stout. And yah, you can bet if someone makes a camp RV vehicle on the Stout, if its nice, will pry be 100k plus (again talking USA prices inflated through to the moon). Just insane. That should be what house costs, not a vehicle posing as a house gosh!

First is the price of the Wingam $110 k in the US, it was listed at $142k. What is the power for off grid? No mention of generator, there is no TVor microwave
@Techwowofficial5 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing those insights! Pricing can vary, so it's good to have updated info. As for off-grid power, it's crucial. While some campers opt for generators, others prioritize solar panels or lithium batteries. And hey, sometimes it's nice to unplug and enjoy nature without TV or microwave distractions, right?
@roslolian115 ай бұрын
Wingam is based in Europe, the reason it is more expensive is because it is all a one piece shell which means no leaks and places for mold to grow etc unlike other campers that are pasted from separate pieces which would grow weaker over time due to rain and wear and tear. This means this camper will be a good investment which will hold its value for years or even decades because the frame itself will be durable and not have weather damage. I am not sure about power off grid but nowadays you can easily resolve that by buying huge mobile power stations. Way cheaper and works just as well IMO. Worst case you can also take down one of the cabinets and install a microwave if there is no option (but I think there will be tbh).
@Desperado32485 ай бұрын
First one of the reasons the Wingam costs more is that the cab and frame are assembled in Mexico, and then sent to Italy for assembly of the camper portion on the Dodge promaster cab and engine rather than the Fiat Ducato. They should have sent the camper portion to the US and assembled it on a US made Chrysler to avoid the $30 k import duty. A good design that will fail

Add to that, many RV parks will not accept an RV more than 10 years old. So better stealth out something you can hide in a short-term airport parking lot. Let's see $100,000 / 10 years? Not exactly a great return on the dollar?

RV park restrictions vary, and some are more lenient than others. Additionally, the depreciation rate can depend on various factors, including the camper's condition and features. In any case your concern is valid, it's essential to consider these points when making a purchasing decision.
