Great vid Zander, can't believe I got name dropped on a masterpiece like this. A bit of lore, you were the first player that I saw that was doing crouch peeks to open up duels. I remember dying to you in ranked and was mind blown, then came across it again watching your vods. Specifically it was a vod over 6 months ago now where you contacted A main on Ascent after the 1 way faded(you were defense). And ended up killing 2. I'm not sure who created this technique but you opened my eyes to it. So thank you. I was able to find the vod for anyone curious(I timestamped it) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnO1q4dsbZehaJYsi=TGkhwyLnwuUttY1P&t=717

The head hitbox extends a lot farther down into the neck than most people realize. Aiming neck level is really good especially against people who tap crouch. It also helps at farther ranges.
@kiangillespie2247Ай бұрын
One tip I have for crouching like Primmie is to actually have an alternate bind than your regular crouch key. I play with my movement fingers on WASD, which made me realize that I can use my space bar as the alternate crouch key. It has not only freed up all of my other fingers for my regular movement, but I personally have really well control over my thumb over my other fingers. I'm consistently able to slightly crouch without even a glimpse of a thought to spray considering it's a different finger on a different key. I hope this can help anyone who's wanting to add crouching into their fights more :)
@fluocryteАй бұрын
Wait I lwk might try this, I also had this issue where my pinky would feel uncomfortable tapping the ctrl key without going too deep. Thabks for the info!

1:59 Counter-strafing doesn't technically work in Valorant. If you count frames, there is little-to-no discernible difference between natural deceleration and perfect counter-strafes. Most players who do counter-strafe moved to Val from CS where there was an advantage to be gained due to the significantly slower movement deceleration but this advantage is not present in Val. That being said, there is no downside to it so you don't have to worry about being at a disadvantage because of that particular habit from CS. Additionally, the mechanic of shooting when you switch directions as you covered is generally referred to as dead-zoning and is absolutely a mechanic that all players should learn. The two mechanics are indeed similar but I feel that the nuance between them and their use cases warrants this clarification.

@2TheFarWestАй бұрын
wym by aim guide? There's really 3 or 4 skills in aiming - Crosshair placement: this is map knowledge (what angles exist, what elevations) + remembering the concept that you should be aiming for the head. - Spray patterns: grab a gun in the range and shoot at a wall lmao - Peaking: Lightly covered in this video, covered in detail in others. The only other element is movement which is the whole point of this video
