Animation. Tails are one of the hardest things to animate as they have to move in specific ways and so they’re harder to animate. It’s bigger in 2D (it’s why a lot of people do less fingers on hands or try and hide tails as much as possible to avoid animating them)

I didn't realize that Astronova is supposed to basically be the Wishing Star/Evening Star/Evangeline. Explains why making promises or "wishes" on it (for what I can guess are marriages that will make empires prosper) are supposed to come true. And why they can keep going back and forth about the voices being taken and then not taken. Legends and lore can get distorted over time. What was once "you make a wish on the comet, it comes true" has turned into "you make a promise in front of the comet and it's set in stone." Also explains how the Wishing Star can be in New Orleans one night and England another 🤣 And how Torelei went from singing near a bridge to being on Broadway in an hour.... Also I have Peter Pan and Princess and the Frog on the brain xD

But the good thing about cities is that there’s always something new, nyc has changed a lot since I’ve gone to college (I come back every few months) so it allows me to always have soenthingn new to learn about my city.

I love Boo York, but my one complaint is the fact that they had Operetta join the main cast, simply because it's a musical, and they didn't even give her her own song!! You have the daughter of the Phantom of the Opera, probably the most well known musical ever and you don't have her sing even once?!?!?!

Apparently in G1, part of Operetta’s monster powers is that if she sings in front of people they will get hypnotized or get put into a trance or something like that. I don’t remember if it they mentioned that it’s safe to listen to a recording of her voice or not (I think in her diary it’s mentioned somewhere). So I think that’s probably it.

This movie is everything! It's my favourite monster high movie. It features my three favourite characters, Catty, Cleo and Nefera. I also love Luna. I just wish they made a doll of Pharaoh because he's so cute and I love his relationship with Catty. The songs are such bops too!

I grew up in a big American city and moved to another one for college. It definitely doesn’t have “mystique”. It was just normal. It did make me more cautious/paranoid than my rural-raised friends but I love both my cities. Also they definitely aren’t grey. Downtown is a bit grey but most of both cities have lots of trees and plants and color. Lots of murals and pretty architecture and art

I recently and randomly thought of another place where a song could be put. What if there was a duet between Nefera and Cleo after Duce breaks up with her. I imagine that the chorus would be "As a princess" and then something that Cleo is "expected" to do, especially according to Nefera. The bridge could have her sing somberly about what she was supposed to do "as a girlfriend" to Duce, but then have the music and singing ramp up for the final chorus as Cleo has made her choice. It would be now that the two would sing together, or at least back and forth. Maybe you could sneak in a line at the end for Nefera, just to herself, singing about Cleo "as a puppet" or something like that where she's relishing in how she manipulated Cleo. I don't even remember what made me think of this idea, but I think it's worth sharing.

I've been living in "the city" for about 8 years and yeah, the mistique of it all kinda wears off? But my version of living it up is having a packed day or at least a packed morning. 1.)I grew up in Las Vegas, I wouldn't call it a gray city. At least in Las Vegas, people who live there don't really go to the tourist areas every day, unless they work there. So it was still fun to go into the fun part of the city sometimes. 2.) The Empire song in this movie is sooo good 3.) My Luna Mothews doll is probably my favorite of all the dolls in my collection.

Not a city, but I a born and raised in Hawaii. Because of media, a lot of people from all over the world tend to picture Hawaii as gorgeous beaches and lush greenery and those who live here must go to the beach every day and surf, talk in typical surfer lingo, and spout some ancient Hawaiian proverb or life lesson. No, no. Depending on the person, people go to the beach often or not, but not everyday because we need to work in order to live here. The cost of living here in Hawaii is outrageous. People also wrongly assume that everyone born here is "Hawaiian". Also no, if you are born and raised here, then you're just a local. You are Hawaiian if you have native Hawaiian blood, otherwise you are one of many Asian and Pacific Islander ethnicities. 4th and 7th grade is where school curriculum teach Hawaiian history, both ancient and modern. It's really interesting and I love teaching it to my students, but by adulthood, those who don't care for it forget most of it anyway. Those who are more aware in general don't base their expectations on media and have done their research. But I went to a local college here with a large number of international students. When I joined the freshman Facebook group, you'd be surprised of the questions some asked when I told them I lived here all my life. Do we have electricity/wifi/plumbing? Yes, how else would I be on Facebook. Do we only eat coconuts? No, thank god. Will the volcano get us? No, the school is on Oahu, the active volcanoes are on the Big Island, also named Hawaii. Where are the bridges between the islands? Apparently this person was looking at a map of flight paths for inter-island flights and thought the arches for the plan paths were bridges. Can I get a lava rock as a souvenir? No, put those back.
