shhh, it's comedy, just embrace it. From a screenplay perspective, the door doesn't need to be opened and what behind the door is not important. The door is there to represent "the exit" and the act of sliding the note under the door just means that what's in the note is private to everybody else, a secret. Yea, i'm the guy who goes to parties to tell people how cool parties are instead of being cool at parties.

Absolutely not. Black Mirror is completely about twisted dystopian type worlds. It explores that darkest sides of humanity. Black Mirror is just that, a black mirror. It is a reflection on our society and what can happen if certain trends continue to their natural, logical extreme. This is entirely different. There was nothing about this that demonstrated some degenerate societal issue. And what's more, this had a very happy ending, that's just not how Black Mirror does things. There were also no plot twists, which aren't absolutely necessary. But that is certainly something that Black Mirror really strives to integrate into their episodes.
