The guy dating his crush was the universe 2 guy. But in Universe's 2, from his perspective thinks he's from Universe 1. Which of course, from his point of view, is true. If you yourself were in that universe you'd call it number one, your universe of origin. Guy eating ice cream in the beginning was from Universe 1. Remember when Universe 2 guy says to his colleague that he thinks his other self is probably sad, even sadder than himself. His colleague responds with something along the lines of, "Well how do you know he's not just out there slammin' ass?" WRONG! He wasN'T! out there slammin' on some ass. Turns out Universe 2 guy was right. When he arrives at his home he finds his pathetic sadder self eating ice cream. Universe 1 guy WAS sadder than Himself (Universe 2 Guy) See for most of the story EVERYONE expected their double to pop up in THEIR lives, they NEVER think that they themselves will be the ones showing up all of a sudden.

I disagree, i think the main one got her because the is no why they could have met without him or her realizing it. (the double would normally be at home so he spawned at his house while the main was on the date) + him and the girl met at work. Are you saying the main decided not to go to work ever? the chance of them meeting is too damn high. The only possibility i can see is if our universe 1 guy met his universe 2 self but then told him to go to work for him on the day that universe 2 girl arrived while he has a vacation from work and everything, like what the universe 1 girl did when her double showed up.

The two universes were gradually merging with each other. Universe 1 "Ice Cream" Booker, only saw the photograph and we cut from his story after he finds it. Universe 2 Booker, the one we follow throughout the story is the one who sees the two toothbrushes and not the photo because this Booker wasn't with his crush yet. This is also why he doesn't act surprised when he sees the same photograph at her desk with her current boyfriend. He didn't find the picture, his other self in Universe 1 found it. Time isn't linear. Especially when we're talking about parallel universes. There were a lot of things that didn't add up like the two toothbrushes showing up before he even got with his crush. This would mean that sad pathetic Booker would have already been with his crush. But again, time isn't linear. Time is only linear to our own reality. My guess is that when the two universes began to merge with each other it warped reality to the extent that aspects of the future manifested themselves in the present. This entire video is a mindfuck and not everything is supposed to make sense. I really enjoyed it though.

"Merging" it was more like people (or objects) from universe 2 were appearing in universe 1, and There were no news on people disappearing. Go watch the very beginning, they show universe 2 guy arriving and universe 1 was entering his house then switch frame before they spoil. The start of the video is the end of the video, thats why universe 2 was like "wtf why am i in a picture with her" (notice ice cream, spoon and picture are both on the last scene and first scene. EDIT: Also you can hear the door opening)

More or less its that we live a life that we take so seriously. We are presented with situations daily, how we react to said situations is our physical reality and everytime we choose to do something over another the "universe" splits and creates another dimension in another time continuum where a different action was taken. So there would be more than doubles of everyone there would be infinite versions of yourself that had slightly different reactions to the situations(or everyday life)we all go through. I think thats what they tried to describe as eternal hell, but thats only for the people that cant accept what it is, you gotta be able to take a breath, let go and live in the present moment

If you start the short at 1:08 it makes way more sense than starting it in the beginning The beginning is the end, so if you put the time as everything before that to be the entire short, then Uni 1 Booker is not the guy eating ice cream but instead the guy who finds the toothbrushes. From then you can realize that the 2 universes are basically merging together, not that they are just randomly popping into each other's Universes. For evidence of this, just look at everything that is doubled. E.G. two spoons in the cereal, two greeting cards on the table, two no smoking signs on the window, and most convincingly two Lawn flamingos and flowers where there used to only be 1 (11:15; 11:35) all that evidence points is that the two universes are merging So Uni 1 Booker isn't the sad-sack we see in the beginning but this guy we see throughout the short. Uni 1 Booker was correct in saying that Uni 2 Booker was a sad sack, which we find out in the end when he pops up out of nowhere. There is no time aspect to this, they just didn't have a clear distinction that what we see in the beginning is not really the beginning of the story. I love all the little details and tbh I still have no idea wtf was happening at *:35 lol

I like to imagine that somewhere out there, the Justice League is fighting some big bad evil guy and desperately try to undo the merging of two universes. While that climactic battle is ongoing, the average shmucks of the world are dealing with the effects of universe merging until the JL emerges victorious and puts things back to normal. This is just the inbetween part where they haven't fixed things yet and they're still busy fighting the bad guy that caused it. Or the Flash. It could be Flash.
