I found out that if you start a blood money mission (stage coach stickup) and go to the legendary animal location of your choice it will spawn like 99% of the time

That's because the blood money missions put you in your own private session. I've created my own and hunted as well. A lot more animals and events spawn when you play in a private session.

Great guide! I’m done this role but I have a friend who’s not and I’ll definitely be passing this info along. One thing that’s helpful for newcomers to know as well is the clicking noise that plays once you’ve pumped enough sedative rounds into an animal. Before I knew what that meant I remember just unloading on the animal until it went down. Which you don’t have to do and it saves a lot of ammo.

@BadInfluence710 No, that works too! It also goes red when you've killed something though. Like if you're using the regular rounds instead of the sedative ones by accident.

What I don't get is the field guide requires killing and skinning the animals as well yet she gets pissed at you for doing this and won't talk to you for a while. Makes zero sense at all.

Problem with hunting legendary animals is they are a random event (which includes strangers , ambushes,following dogs treasure hunters/maps etc )and only one at a time can happen meaning if someone else in the lobby elsewhere has triggered any of these then you won’t get any legendary animals regardless of perfect conditions.. best thing to do is getting a solo lobby and it’ll be much much easier

I’d really like it if this role could get some type of rework. It’s not good pay wise, it’s sort of boring to play, and it works in direct contradiction to one of the best roles. I don’t know how they could rework it, but the sampling and collecting stamps is a very cool thing in my opinion. Sadly it’s basically doomed to simply be a way to farm legendary aninals

TL;DW: The best and almost only reward from this role is Fast Travel from the Wilderness camp.

@@chrisharvey6845 Yes, first you must buy the Wilderness camp, and then the ability to fast travel from it. Both are sold by Harriet. And except for a couple of horses only she sells, that's the only reward she offers that is unique and worth any real effort.

Last year, when tried RDO again after being away from it because of all the cheaters(Godmode, Off Radar etc. etc. i found a Legendary Animal without even knowing that a new role had been added... Didn't get the chance to give it to Cripps though as I didn't know what else to do with it because someone stole the carcass by killing me and my horse 🤕 But anyhow Good video! 👍 But I still think I won't be getting this role at all when the only thing that seems interesting to me is the Legendary Animals.

A big problem for alot of xbox players. No info on fixing the issue anywhere besides resetting your Xbox cache. The samples will say the Harriet stamp but will not count for XP

@@andresbustamante2027 resetting console cache is done by holding the power button until it shuts off. Wait until you hear no fans on inside. Than unplug it for 15 seconds and boot everything up. Gameplay should be a little bit nicer.

What if you somehow missed the chance to buy the sample kit or you did not have the 25 gold? Where do you go to restart the option to acquire the kit if you no longer have a marker to the hotel? Struggling a lot to get started - this game is very far from intuitive

Harriet has her own tents set up around the map where you can visit anytime and buy the kit. (I’m pretty sure she has one of them slightly north of Lagras)

But the fact that my mate, not a naturalist, can also find it, means we can spam session hop until it eventually spawns. Recently got naturalist rank 12 and immediately got the moonstone wolf mission, also had a friend give me the onyx wolf. Just need the fucking elusive emerald now 😂

Try out collector role. Especially right now, because of 2x $RDO and XP. Best role for money and XP grind imo. It is pretty boring and time consuming, though. As for gold bars i recomend doing dailies and blood money, stranger or telegram missions Also each 5 levels you get a treasure map and selling few collector sets will level you up very fast Bounty hunter missions are good for grinding gold bars too
