This quote from Darth Vitiate really is frightening. Even though Palpatine desired to rule like him, the only difference between them is that Sidious didn't want to rule without anyone he wants to use for his fiendish purposes while Vitiate wants to rule a galaxy without even a single being alive and would simply wait for the next cycle to begin so he could do it all over again. That made me think:if that's what Vitiate really wants, how would he think and feel in case there will never be a next cycle of life to begin leaving him as the only living being around? Is he fine with that? That's a very terrifying thought in my point. 😳

@Moshin Rafsanjani I think that’s true about the degree to which evil manifests, but not about the inborn drive we have toward it. For instance, children must be taught to share because they are not naturally inclined to do so. In Vitiate’s case, though, I am sure that having an abusive parent was probably a strong contributor to his sociopathic mindset.

@@tommoore2012 I see your point. But I still think Sidious is worse in my opinion because instead of killing everyone, he wanted to give people a fate worse than death. I agree on when you said how Vitiate is worse by trying to destroy hope itself and that idea does sound truly more horrifying than Palpatine wanting to rule the galaxy. But to me, Palpatine is more evil because of how sadistic he actually is, while he just uses everyone around him for his own gain, political scemes, outsmarting the jedi order, then having most of them killed so when he rules the galaxy, he'll have more lives to play with at his disposal. Vitiate killing everyone would mean EVERYONE. I think including the sith as well if I'm not mistaken (if I am please say so)

Sauron, as well as Sidious, mostly used deception and shapeshifting, respectively force mask, until they lost it/got face-electrocuted:). And he specifically wanted to become Death Incarnate rather than just have infinite power to travel the universe. Seeking Omnicide is also complete madness. Valcorian was simply out of his mind and a danger to everything that had the misfortune of existing at the same time as him. In all of the Expanded Universe lore this was only one of three times the Jedi and Sith orders would unite with the same goal. Abaloth was another so Valcorian would be an equal threat as it. His actions go so far beyond the spectrum of good and evil to the point where it defies any form of logic, reason, or explanation. And that, by definition, is Madness.

I'd almost say that Sidious was more evil because he took true pleasure in the death and torture he instilled. The fear and pain of others fueled his ego. Vitiate simply used death as his fuel for immortality. If it were more efficient to simply siphon his power over time, he'd have done that instead. He felt nothing about the pain he caused, and subsequently the death he caused.

He took pleasure from the death and torture of his enemies. I’m sure he didn’t really care if others were or weren’t tho. There is a huge difference between your enemies suffering or just everyone. They’re both sadistic but there is a huge difference in the degree of evil. Sidious had a vision of how the galaxy should be ruled and at least improved the quality of life for certain groups of people (sure others suffered too, but I’m not making the case for Palpatine being a good person by any stretch of the imagination). Viciate had a complete disregard for the lives of the ENTIRE GALAXY just to gain even more power. To have such a disregard for life on that level and to leave an entire galaxy be void of all life and every planet stripped of the force is evil on a level I’ve never heard of before. Palpatine was responsible for the death of billions of people, but he at least had a goal In mind of having a stable and peaceful galaxy where the people can prosper in ways the republic couldn’t offer. He wanted to change things for his own ego and for everyone to recognize his excellence which is all the wrong reasons to want to change things and during the reign of the empire, many people did suffer, but in a lot of ways the empire had some benefits compared to the republic. How anyone can honestly think that Sidious is more evil than Viciate is beyond me. Sidious takes pleasure in torturing his enemies is more evil than killing the life force of the ENTIRE GALAXY? Both are selfish and egotistical, but Viciate makes Palpatine look like a saint in comparison

Understanding the need for a STRONG antagonist and interesting enough characters for a good story - I think that Viciate and the Eternal Empire would be a VERY very interesting tv series or series of movies. I wonder if anyone can or would be williing to move away from the Skywaker lineage and Palpatine/Sideous? I think the dynamic played out between the brothers would be a very interesting story too. Simply put, I think there's more than enough intrigue and depth. It would be AWESOME!! :D

When I think of Vitiate, I instantly think of the Sith Triumvirate combined into one person. Kreia wanted the death of the force, Nihilus had to consume everything, and Sion was able to live forever. I don't know if that was intended before scrapping the third KOTOR for the MMO, but it is a nice touch if it was.

The thing is, Palpatine doesn’t actually care about making the galaxy a safe place. Framing his goals in that way is merely a means to an end to win the loyalty of his followers. However, in truth, Palpatine/Sidious only cares about obtaining all the power in existence and ruling over every universe, and if he should somehow fail to do so, he would have the universe destroyed if possible. In that sense, Palpatine is at least as evil as Vitiate; there is nothing that Vitiate did that Sidious would not be willing to do. While Vitiate simply wanted to wipe out all life in the universe, Sidious wanted to control it for all eternity, forcing those beings to live and suffer eternally under his undying rule - a fate that I’m sure most would consider to be far worse than the death that Vitiate had planned. As we saw in Rebels, Emperor Palpatine’s ultimate goal is to become a god with absolute power over time, space, and the universe itself. If he succeeded in this goal, then all inhabitants of the universe - past, present and future - would have to endure fates worse than death forever. While Vitiate simply wanted to command death, Sidious wanted to command so much more (death, life, time, space, and even reality itself). That is why I consider Darth Sidious, *_”The One True Emperor”,_* to be at least as evil, if not more so, than the previous Sith Emperor, Vitiate.

Do you honestly think that the inhabitants of the universe living under his rule would be living happy, peaceful lives? Sidious wants everyone to be in constant fear of him, and will ensure that they are constantly and painfully reminded of that fact every single day forever. Most people would rather die than live under that eternal torment, but the point is that even killing yourself wouldn’t matter as Sidious (who would be a god in control of the universe via the World Between Worlds in this hypothetical situation where he succeeded in his plans) could simply bring you back to life again to suffer eternally. Don't forget about Darth Krayt as well. In terms of evil, I believe he's also up there with Vitiate and Sidious. In terms of power, Vitiate is the most powerful, Sidious the second most powerful, and Krayt is the third most powerful.

What did Vitiate do outside of immortality better than Sidious? Had 8,000 Sith start a ritual for him that he just hijacked at the right moment? Sidious mastered every single dark side ability known (outside of true immortality) and mastered all 7 forms. You have to take Sidious’s EU feats considering all of Vitiate’s are legends as well. Vitiate sat around for 1,000 years and failed to conquer the entire galaxy once, Sidious did it in like 50-60 years without an entire army of Sith following him.

Darth Krayt would be beat Vitiate and possibly Sidious if everything played out correctly, although if he made one mistake, then Sidious would kill him. Darth Krayt was a WAY better duelist than both of them and had enough force power to challenge them. He had ragdolled Cade Skywalker with a flick of his finger who was Jedi Council level, as he was killing Sith left and right. Krayt also was the first ever to use essence transfer in the same body he had just died in. Although, he is not as evil as both of them, since he wasn't born a psychopath like the both of them. He still had traits from the Tusken Raider culture he grew up in.

@@CommanderOfRussia1 Darth Sidious had mastered all forms earlier in his life, but he became quite an awful duelist years later compared to other SIth Lords and Jedi Masters. The dangerous thing about him was that he used his force to augment his speed to a very fast level, which was combined with his immense amount of force power. You can see how low his performance in episode 3's fight, since Kit Fisto was able to block multiple of his attacks despite having a slow lightsaber form thats VERY weak against Sidious's Juyo. He shouldn't had been able to block it, but he was able to predict Sidious easily.

He also kinda got so OP he didn’t really need lightsabers lol. Krayt is very powerful too don’t get me wrong, Top 5 imo, but Sidious is on another level. Krayt probably falls 4th for me personally, behind Sidious, Vitiate, and Exar.

Sidious isn’t as evil as everyone thinks he is. He’s no saint by any means and is the main villain in the sky Walker saga, but Sidious had different political and philosophical views on how the galaxy should be ran and tried to make the people of the galaxy prosper. He caused billions of deaths in his rise to power thru the clone wars, but from his point of view, if all those people had to die in order to Change the galaxy for a better future with a totally reformed galaxy, then he was willing to do it. Yes he was a cold hearted and in many ways evil to a degree, but having different views on how things should be ran isn’t evil. Viciate tho was willing to destroy an entire galaxy just for the sole purpose of making his own being turn into a god which is selfish beyond imaginable. Like in all honesty, if he killed ALL of the life in the galaxy, wtf was he going to do with all that power he accumulated? Every planet would have been turned into a gray dead world like his home world. Viciate is as close to the embodiment of evil as you can get. In all seriousness tho, if Viciate was able to successfully pull off his galactic ritual and turn every place into a dead gray landscape that is completely stopped of the force itself, what would he do with all that power? He killed all the life in the galaxy so nobody can recognize his great power, if he visits any plant he would be just a normal person since he’d strip the planet of the force. This is highly debatable. Sidious may seem better looking at it one way, but he was highly sadistic, often torturing people purely because that was entertainment to him. I have to disagree with this one, because Vitiate wanted power and simply didn't care about other people. Sidious actively enjoyed watching others suffer, sometimes even laughing while causing it. I think the enjoyment of horrible things is worse than the lack of caring about them. Both characters are terrible people, but Sidious was a complete monster, deliberately going to extreme lengths just to cause pain and misery. There's even a story where he tortured a man to death, brought him back Plagueis-style, and repeated the process over and over. That's one of the most evil things any character has done, arguably the worst thing in any franchise.

Hard to say for sure, in terms of actions, I believe Vitiate/Valkorian and all his names did more evil. But given his lifespan, definitely easier to do. That said, I think they are equally depraved. The only difference is method and desire. Palpatine enjoyed things that were evil, so he did them. Valkorian wanted godhood essentially, so he sacrificed others to achieve it. If their desires were swapped I believe they’d probably swap many methods too.

Vitiate is not acknowledged for the power he achieved, and his long life. He really is the ideal of Darth - a truly profound power. But the book where we meet him shows what it cost him. Pain. He sucked a whole planet dry to live thousands of years. But in constant, intense pain. Yet his force powers increased exponentially when he did. It is amazing he was kept from conquering the Republic at the time, but it makes sense that despite this, his main motivation was fear. A strange paradox.

Lord Vitiate absolutely CRUSHES Lord Sidious in my opinion. YES, Lord Vitiate would absolutely KNOW that he'd been in the MOST challenging fight of his life, and he wouldn't come out unscathed, but with that being said Lord Vitiate would eventually CRUSH Lord Sidious 100% of the time. Just my own personal opinion anyway.

I think Sidious is more evil that Vitiate. Sidious wanted the galaxy to know that he was all powerful and coursing through his veins was the power to destroy and or enslave their whole planet. In contrast, Vitiate was aiming for nothing less than godhood and to accomplish this he chose to wipe out all life without hesitation or regret. I believe that for Vitiate his goal was simple after using Nathema, "kill one man and you're a murderer, kill a million,a king, kill them all, a god."

I would consider Palpatine more evil in this respect: Vitiate was driven by his hunger, Palpatine was driven by his desire to rule over every living thing in the galaxy. This takes alot of patience, cunning, manipulation, sadism, violence...It is so intricate and methodical it is mind boggling.

Sidious was evil incarnate, he represented everything about lack of empathy and just wanted to rule for the sake of ruling, orderly yes, but for no one's sake. He hated things because he thought there was a way things should be, yes his actions are purely evil but he thought he was justified based on his own inner philosophy.... Vitiate on the other hand was just as evil, but he was absolutely nihilistic and narcissistic at the same time, which makes him more hideous when you truly understand how he acted and thought. Vitiate said he would absorb the entire galaxy and then move on to another just to be absolutely immortal and then just be a normal man, a lover, a painter, etc, if that level of double standards doesn't bring chills down a person spine I don't know what does. I don't think Vitiate ever tried to justify himself, like ever, except in his origin story (I think i read he hated both his parents for their unfaithfulness etc, to each other and to himself). Either way saying his origin story justifies his hatred of humanity or his nihilism is a bit of a stretch, but at least as far as villain goes, it's not a paper thin origin story like others in other franchises.

Palpatine/Darth Sidious is much worse; here is why. Both Vitiate and Sidious were born to be psychopaths. Sidious relied on this heavily while establishing his power, as he could drew a lot of power from the fear and suffering from others. Vitiate, however, strayed too far from being a mortal or being a 'simple sentient being' to perceive the meaning of life - this is basically what happened to Doctor Manhattan (Watchmen) as well. This had happened to Vitiate way before he could become a real immortal god, and this is why he regarded anyone else in the whole universe as mere stepping stones towards his goal. This does not mean that Vitiate was not evil, because he was; but later on, his evil nature was almost entirely replaced by an infinite egoism that led him towards the sensless eradication of all life to attain his purpose.

If Palpatine's name really was "Sheev" I can understand why he divorced himself from it. But as it wasn't created by GL, I don't ever acknowledge that his REAL name was ever known by ANYONE but those who are dead. I will say this, you do good videos. As for Vitiate, he was the best. Even if the Force hated him. But Palpatine was flawed, he may have wanted to rule the galaxy, but the majority of the Galaxy didn't want to be ruled. His rule would have resulted in so much death, that people wouldn't have stopped defying him.

if we were going strictly by legends i would have said maul was the most evil, because of his bloodlust and the way he dismantled anyone he fought like an animal, indiscriminately- women, children included but unlike anakin would be happy bathing in the blood and gore but in canon i think no one comes close to sidious because he wanted to rule over everyone in perpetual misery, feeding off their negative emotions and using torture, killing or torturing those who didn't submit, breaking willpower and creating servants, feeding off their pain. its more evil because its so sustainable and endless, he takes joy out of inflicting his brand of evil while vitiate would be ok killing populations he'd come into contact with who were inferior in his eyes but this didn't really sate him much. eventually for him there will be a galaxy of corpses- what then? boredom, dissatisfaction, dark side eats him alive when he cannot feed it anymore lives. his children became damaged and mutilated and had an abusive upbringing for sure as sith where senya tried to save them, but we must remember that sidious did the same to maul from childhood and his ally, his 20 year old apprentice lost all his limbs and went into a mechanical coffin for the rest of his life, palpatine didn't care and was partially responsible for that.

So many aspects to think of. Vitiate seems more going to the way of madness, but Sidious seems to take more pleasure from evil deeds. Sidious needed others for the fear, for the pain, for the suffering, while Vitiate simply did not care. Both ways could leed to the worst kind of evils and I think Vitiate had the power and the will to do the most damage to others. But, Sidious is the more sadistic one of the two, so I would say this is a tie. Both are worst.

Darth Sidious or Emperor Palpatine was nutty as a fruitcake. He literally fried his own face three times with his own lightning. You would think that he would learn after the first time; to STOP the flow of electricity from his hands. But no, he was too stupid to learn. He only ruled for a short 24 years because of his stupidity. Nowhere near the thousand years that Bane predicted.

The only person, outside the star wars universe I could compare tenebrae's evil would be unicorn. Simply because both of them were willing to end the universe until they're the only ones remained
