Shadow the Hedgehog was like the 3rd Sonic game I saw in full (the second was Sonic 06 💀). I might have a thing for bad games, as I still haven't checked out the Adventure games or Unleashed but _did_ crack and watch a let's play of Forces recently, purely because I couldn't hold out any longer and just _had_ to see how bad it truly is _(and also because I happened to find a let's play of it in my home language but shh)_ Also this game's soundtrack is goated when it's good and bland when it's not, but the good more than makes up for the bad. Plus its attempts at edgyness are just hilarious.

Yeah, Shadow actually isn't really an edgy character in Sonic Adventure2. They seriously destroyed his story and character in this game. In Sonic Adventure 2 he became a hero, not an anti-hero, but a true hero by sacrificing himself for humanity. He even told Sonic that he believes Sonic's the ultimate life form while in their super forms. The guy was only "bad" and "edgy" because he misunderstood Maria's wishes, and sides with Eggman wrongfully. And of course he looks edgy. Honestly i wish they made a story about how Sonic needed to go to the past for some reason, and Dr. Robotnik saw the powers of Sonic. Then he tries to create a being in his image and ends up with Shadow. Or maybe Sonic could have been made in Shadow's likeness as the complete version. I just think there needs to be a strong connection between Sonic and Shadow and their origins. They're far too similar not to be related in some way. Like how do you go from the biolizard to an edgy cartoony hedgehog that looks nearly exactly like Sonic? Sorry for my long rant. Im just disappointed with how Sonic Team has handled Shadow, and even Sonic at this point.
